Eels chasing Ricky??

The Sun-Herald reckons Parramatta have put feelers out for Ricky Stuart to replace Daniel Anderson as Eels coach - even though Ricky has a year to run on his contract.

Wiedler claims Ricky is privately frustrated with the Sharks lack of finances and off field scandals.

All fuelled by the fact that his former Canberra team mate Paul Osborne is now CEO at the Eels.

Hope nothing comes of it. I'd like to see Ricky as a long term Sharks coach - for at least another five or six years anyway.

I posted about this in your other thread about brian smith leaving to go to the chooks.

Yes they want him but what is in ricky's favour is that he has signed all new players and it would be extremely hard for him to leave after doing that.

I would actually be upset about this. I think Ricky has stabilised the players and, exempting situations beyond his control, had a massive shot at the title last year. The changes he brought to our defence has been excellent.

I like our buys for next year and think we'll be stronger in 2010 and unstoppable in 2011.

The only better current coaches at the moment are Bennett and Bellamy.

I doubt it very much unless they are trying to get him for 2011.

Daniel Anderson has just signed and they have made some big purchases, Notwithstanding the P'mtta Board are right behind Anderson inclusive of older players like Sterlo.

I think this year EVERYONE has been frustrated at the Sharks. The spotlight is on Ricky next year as a credible coach. This year he had a roster that could have won the G. Final.

He's now got a young side that has his imprint as a coach. He is in the position of CREATING good players out of inexperienced young guns and not buying STAR players like this year who let him down. The lesson from this year is that you can't change the behavior of older players unless they want to change. Truly they have let down Ricky both as players and as friends. Reni, Seymour & Bird ALL chose their fate.

Ricky's reputation as a coach will really hang on what he does next year with the Sharks!! Until then I doubt he will be the HOT property people are making rumours about and they will all be convinced that Ricky inherited a G Final side at Easts not actually created one.

Ricky is the best thing to happen to Cronulla in a long time and it would be a disaster if he were lost. That being said, I find it hard to believe that the Eels would already be looking to knife Daniel Anderson. He's a good coach too.

hasler is a great coach, just that he coaches a f*cked up team

folkes is rubbish, look at the culture he ended up with at the dogs before he pissed off to the west indies cricket team..

I also think folks is an amazing coach, its not his fault he had fkwit players like Mason to deal with,

So you'd rather Hasler and Lang over Wayne Bennett and Craig Bellamy? IMO Bennett is by far the best coach in the NRL, followed by Craig Bellamy, Ricky Stuart, Brian Smith & Des Hasler. There is also Neil Henry. John Lang would be below that group of coaches IMO. There are also alot of very good young assistent coaches around the place aswell.

well lets just hope ricky stays with the club, he is the best thing to happen to the club since ever. He is the man to lead us to greatness and with all the players he has bought for next year i dont think he is going anywhere.

Its just weidler garbage and the only reason the eels want him is because of paul osborne who played with ricky.

wayne bennett is ancient and i cant see him coaching for much longer, as if he will come to us and as if bellamy will leave the storm for anywhere other then QLD

a rookie/young coach would be last on the list by a long way, as its proven they struggle big time (fittler,clearly,taylor)
