i have been begging and screaming for some businessmen to come on the board for years and run this ship the way it should be...these blokes at the moment couldn't run a pub raffle. I don't mean i want a businessman buying the joint, just bring in their expertise and run it like it used to be...many used to hate Gow but he knew how to run a business...professionally and ruthlessly

Roosters sign Nutley for two years
August 15, 2006 - 1:59PM

The Sydney Roosters have signed former Cronulla and Queensland Origin prop Danny Nutley to a two-year deal with the NRL club.

Nutley was granted a release from the final two years of his contract with English Super League side Castleford after citing his desire the return to Australia with his young family.

"After re-signing (with Castleford), the enormity of being there for another three years hit home, and after giving the matter a great deal of thought, as a family, we have decided to return home," Nutley said.

The 31-year-old joins fellow forward Nate Myles as big-name additions to the Roosters pack for next season, countering the loss of Great Britain Test prop Adrian Morley back to England.

"I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to join the Roosters for their 100th season in 2007 and excited at the chance to play with a blend of exciting young players and experienced campaigners like Craig Fitzgibbon, Craig Wing, Chris Flannery and Amos Roberts," said Danny Nutley.

Im pretty certain the reason he was allowed out of the final year of his Sharks contract was because he was fed up with the joint. He wanted out. There was no way he was ever going to rejoin the Sharks.

I say lettuce and sharks195,Villa wont even make first grade next year he's washed up at 26 .Nutley will be around a lot longer than villa in the top grade even if his 32.And if you cant make the sharks run on side what hope have you got.

Nutley wanted out of his last year with cronulla due to the huge offer and him being 31 thought for his family it would be the right thing as he only has a limited time to earn that sort of money. Some board members did not want him to leave but steve rogers thought it was the best opportuntity for him and his family and agreed.I heard this from rogers himself last year.So maybe some of the management are still holding a grudge

This is the dame board that let Sullo go remember. Michael Sullivan had GREAT potential to lift our team to a premiership. Versatility to cover hooker, half and 5/8..... look at the options the bard left us with. We let a guy go that was one of our best! Why - because he owed us money? Pathetic! Nutley just made the Queensland team and was on thte top of his game yet we let him walk. Villa is ok... but Nutters had balls and passion! I am pissed that they let Sully walk because we could afford that loss!

Nutley to be a Shark again

Don't be surprised within the next couple of weeks if not sooner Nutley will be a Shark again.

On the outer at Roosters, and we need depth given our current suspension and injuries.

Oh k, I personally hope not, we have Douglas, Ross (I know suspended for 7 weeks), Peek, Norrie, Selmes, Su'a & Moa. I think the issue is in the backrow. Though if he was cheap, I guess I probably wouldn't mind.
