Its not a great backline, really. Compare it to other teams at full strength and you'll agree.

Dogs: Patten, Goodwin, Morris, Idris, Turner, Roberts, NodNod
Dragons: Boyd, Nightingale, Scott/Gasnier, Cooper, Morris, Soward, Hornby
Knights: Gidley, Vuna, Sau, MacDougall, Uate, Mullen, ______ (revolving halfback)
Raiders: Dugan, Monaghan, Croker, Thompson, Vidot, Campese, McCrone
Eels: Hayne, Burt, Tahu, Reddy, Grothe, Keating, Mortimer
Titans: Campbell, Mead, Tonga/Rogers, Tomane/Rogers, Gordon, Bird, Prince
Storm: Don't count. Cheats.
Manly: Stewart/Farrar, Williams, Lyon, Matai, Robertson, Foran, Hodkinson

I haven't picked the best ones there so much, just the ones that came to mind. Our back line is improving, but its far from 'great'. We've got a long way to go, and tbh, I don't think it will be one of the best in the comp for another 2 seasons at least.

Wasn't saying it was the best just looks alot better then what we had at the start of the year.

Western Force make play for Dane Nielsen

Western Force make play for Dane Nielsen

ANOTHER Melbourne player could be lost to the NRL, with rugby union pushing hard for in-form three-quarter Dane Nielsen to switch codes.

The Daily Telegraph understands Nielsen has fielded a handsome offer from the Western Force.

It's believed the Perth-based outfit's advance is financially superior to those put forward by Cronulla and New Zealand Warriors, the two NRL clubs thought to be in sole contention for Nielsen's services next year.

Should Nielsen take up the rugby offer, he'll become the fourth Storm player to quit the NRL since the salary cap scandal broke. Jeff Lima, Brett Finch and Ryan Hoffman are all close to signing deals with UK Super League front-runners Wigan, where they will reunite with former Storm assistant coach Michael Maguire.

Speculation has also been mounting that prop Brett White is poised to accept a three-year deal at Canberra. However, a well-placed Victorian source said last night the Storm were reluctant to release White because their front-row stocks had already been decimated.

"They've already lost Aiden Tolman and Ryan Tandy [Bulldogs], and Jeff Lima won't be there next year either," the source said.

Unless he wants to stay in Melbourne for $50000 a year I can't see them keeping him, he has been playing nsw cup for them. If he does leave as I suspect it would come down to us or western force I reckon.

18th man this weekend but it does suggest if fit why he isn't starting and makes the idea of him leaving more likely and Bellamy is preparing for next year by giving Stanley, Duffie and O'neill valuable game time.

Especially if they lose Inglis..... but then again if they are losing Ingis they may want to keep Nielsen.........I'm confused

It is a win either way with Nielson. We get him, we get a young centre. We don't get him, Snowman has to eat his hat! I can't wait to watch Snowman eat his hat!
