Time for him to come up?

premier league score sheet

SHARKS 34
Paul Stephenson 2, Dane Neilsen 2, Reece Robinson 2, Cameron Ciraldo tries, Bryson Goodwin 3 goals

AUCKLAND LIONS 16
Lance Hohia 2, Upu Poching tries, Steve Buckingham 2 goals.

lines from the PL match review on club site

"Paul Stephenson was outstanding for the Sharks, scoring the first two tries in the match and proving a handful every time he ran the ball."

"After it was Stephenson who got them started it was then Dane Nielsen who would get in on the act, crossing for the next two tries as the Sharks built a 20-0 lead."

In a couple of positives for the Sharks both Cameron Ciraldo and Ben Ross came through the game unscathed in their return from injury and will no doubt be better for the run

im starting to have my doubts about Ricky,we have ok defence. but our attack is got to be the worst in the comp . its boring, predictable. and played in a 10m meter square area, and still playing those flat passes.
maybe ricky would make a good defence coach. and we get a attacking coach , and have a master coach above them.

He was a halfback, originally. You aren't a Test-playing halfback if you can't create something in attack.

... and no comments about that, fellas.

you cant blame noddy for the loss when there are 17 players in the team. adam dykes should have taken some pressure off noddy, everytime we were in the 20 metre line dykes would waste a tackle and gain no metres. our attack wont be as bad when we get kearney back, we need some1 hoo is explosive and can score tries

that is why you have a halfback and five eigth , if we are to rely on kearney to come back and be our game breaker then we really do have problems , when stars like kearney are sidelined you expect other players to step up and it isnt happening in the right positions

im hearing you champ but look at other teams when they need some spark their halves provide it , it shouldnt matter who is playing you need your backs deep and ready for anything coming their way . i am a fan of the inside ball but geez get pom or simmo or misi running it not a front rower just as tired as the defense

Neilson looks to storm into A grade

Neilson looks to storm into A grade
Daily Mercury

Dane Nielsen will walk away from the Cronulla Sharks despite making his first grade debut for the club in round 19 of this year's NRL premiership. But the boom three-quarter is set for greener pastures, striking a deal with premiership heavyweight Melbourne Storm.

"I'd like to stay at the Sharks but got a better offer and I needed a change," the 22-year-old said after three years with the Sutherland shire outfit."Although I finally got to play first grade this year it's time to move on and venture elsewhere," he added.

The Mackay Norths junior, who won a Mackay District Rugby League A grade premiership with Moranbah in 2004 and played Foley Shield with the Mackay Sea Eagles, has lofty ambitions with the Storm. He expects to be playing with feeder club Central Coast in the New South Wales Premier League but wants to make his mark in the big league.

"If I play any first grade I'll be happy but I'd like to see myself playing between five to 10 NRL games next season," he said."I know it's a high goal to set but you've got to set it that high to try and achieve it."To do that much training, you've got to picture something at the end of the road."

A major ambition was realised when he received a call-up to the Sharks A grade side in July, when the side battled to a 29-22 loss against Manly.

"When I made my debut it was unreal," he said. "To finally get a crack makes it worthwhile."

And Nielsen knows plenty more opportunities will come after a meeting with Storm coach Craig Bellamy sealed a two year deal with the defending champions.

"I felt a bit nervous meeting a bloke of his calibre but he's a down to earth bloke. We spoke for about an hour and a lot of it wasn't about football," the keen angler said."To crack the team will be pretty hard but you never know what happens in rugby league. A couple of injuries and a change in form and you can get your chance. You've just got to take it if you get it."
