It says something that we aren't really missing this guy

McInnes and Wade have really stepped up lately
I genuinely believe he should be coming off the bench anyway.

Storm had already come to terms with that before he left, mciness is doing everything we need where he is now and with Wade starting in place of teig he has gone to another level as well

Dale only came off the bench for Storm in late 2021 because he wa are turning from injury. He was always a starter when healthy.

Started from the bench with Nicho in their GF didn't he?
2020?

Missed the final 2 months of the season injured. Played 2 finals games off the bench.

You cherry picked 8 days from the last 4 years.

Leader of the club they reckon

Has there ever been a more unfamiliar/uncronulla leader of the team than Dale ?
What really counts is the perception of leadership among the actual players. Far less important to get the perception of Shark fans. From what I understand, Dale is respected by all his teammates. He is low-key, no-nonsense and doesn't have any obvious flair in front of the camera. We have other players (eg Nicho Hynes) who are a bit flashier and excel in that capacity.

Yeah this. What fans see as "leadership" is different than what the coach is talking about.

In pro sport the managers and coaches all say that the best way to teach young players is to put experienced guys around them.

A young player can have coaches, dieticians, physios, sports scientists all telling him how he should prepare and behave... but it will make more of a difference when his experienced veteran teammates lead by example, set a standard, and make him accountable when doesn't meet it.

Well said and I think as he’s a rookie Fitz brought him to help drive the culture and standard . We will reap the benefits of that long after he’s gone.

That aside you can’t deny he’s been disappointing this year imo
