Morning one and all and what a fine morning it is last night the mighty Crusaders beat Super League team Harlequins by 29 - 6 in a fine show by us we were under the cosh for the first ten minutes on the first quarter then seem to grow in confidence and stature but saying that we were the first to conceed points when henry Paul converted a Scott Hill try but within five mins we were level when Anthony Blackwood went over for the Crusaders, with Van Dijk converting. We wnt in at half time with a 12 - 6 lead thanks to a Paul Ballard end to end try again converted by van Dijk.In the second half it was much the same story with Crusaders soaking up all Quins could throw at us and scoring more tries through Chris Vitalini and Blackwoods second and a try and goal from Damien Quin so all in all a good performance by us and stands us in good stead for the start of the season on Friday with a trip to Sheffield Eagles in the Northern Rail cup

Well good morning all from a bloody freezin cold Wales ....we got our season off to a good start last night with a hard fought victory up at Sheffield Eagles by 22 - 12 , tries from Ballard 2, Duggan 2 and Dyer along with a conv by Van Dijk sealed the victory . We lloked good both in attack and defence in the first half and lead by 12 - 4 at the break but then with both Sheffield playing better and us playing a bit worse the Eagles got them selves back in the game and levelled at 12- 12. To be fair at this point Sheff were playing the better football but we managed to re group and edge our noses in front again 16 - 12 and thats the way it stayed until the dying minutes until we sealed the game and a hard fought victory on the road . So thats one game gone in the NRC next is a trip to the capital to face the London Skolars lets hope the victories continue , the teams from last night were as follows

Sheffield Eagles: Jonny Woodcock, Danny Mills, Grant Farrow, Mike Roby, Gred Hurst, Brendon Lindsay, Dominic Brambani, Jack Howieson, Michael Hill, Tom Buckenham, Craig Brown, Tommy Trayler, Adam Hayes. Subs: Dane McDonald, Nick Turnbull, Grant Edwards, Mitch Stringer.

Celtic Crusaders: Tony Duggan, Paul Ballard, Damien Quinn, Mark Dalle Cort, Luke Dyer, Ian Webster, Jace Van Dijk, Gareth Dean, Neil Budworth, David Tangata-Toa, Terry Martin, Darren Mapp, Chris Beasley. Subs: Jamie I’Anson, Aaron Summers, Chris Vitalini, Jordan James.

Referee: Ben Thaler (Wakefield)

Well Mega I believe that the name was choses because the club was set up for post-grd students at london Universities in about 1995 hence the name because if you brainy like wot i am not :) you are knick named a "scolar" so with a little bit of tweaking with the letters the Skolars were born ...
