Right i got a bit of time to kill so while you sharks are in bed asleep i will fill you in on this weeks Celtic Crusaders news.

Jan 26 08 Crusaders will face super league team Harlequins in a pre season friendly which should be a good test for the lads before the season starts in Feb, Last year we played The Broncos before their defeat by St Helens in world club championship (we lost 32 - 6 ) but this year seem to have much stronger squad so we should get a small idea as to where we are in our quest for SL place in 2009.Anyway thats killed a bit of time if any one would like me to carry on with this let me know if not i'll just shut the hell up :) and concentrate on all things Sharks

no, i quite like the update stuff, thanks nash, i don't mind the super league, but the only problem for me is that it seems as though it is a much faster game than the NRL, like they don't slow the play the ball up as much. but i still like rugby league in any form.

no i just prefer it here in australia, with the slow down of the play the ball, it makes the game more exciting to me.

Maybe you should be watching rugby union then if you find it exciting when the ball takes an age to clear the ruck...

Welcome to Emu Plains, please be sure to visit our
pfft to fast...hence with they always make mistakes...thats why i cant sit through a whole ESL game because they make plenty of stupid mistakes..that dont occur as much in the NRL..hence why you always see 60-0 scorelines...

you sound like a yawnion fan.. :p

only watch the ESL to catch up with aussies playing over there...might start following it abit more when the crusaders enter the ESL

News just in Crusaders are to play a pre season friendly against super league Harlequins on Jan 26th (if anyone wants to come i'll pick them up from Llandysul train station.:D) which itself is quite good ,we can see where we are in our quest to be playing these teams every week , the one dodgy thing is the game will be played in 4 15 minute quarters not sure about this have you ever had such things over the big big pond ???

Tsk tsk tsk. The most prestigious Rugby League showdown ever, The Amco Cup, was played over quarters.

Yeah but I'm sure that was 20 minute quarters, not 15 min - preseason trials tend to be played in quarters as well, to allow for drinks breaks because of the heat at that time of year.

15 mins only goes to an hour long game
you gotta figure the point of quarters is more rest because its only preseason
but thats just ridiculous

We won Div 2 last season and now are hoping for a good first season in Div 1 cause after this season Super League is going the way of franchises and as the RFL have stated they want to expand the game here they want clubs from the newer regions of UK RL as well as the Northern heartlands of the game . The front runners for 2 of these franchises are ourselves and 1 more French team (98% Toulouse) but this is not a certain done deal as certain criteria have to be shown by the clubs to achieve this such as financial stability, a academy team to help with player development and ground criteria . We have all of those in place so its just a case of going from strength to strength and having a good season then waiting for the powers that be to finalise things (fingers and all things crossed )
