Totally agree SBBB.
I do also think it's up to the parents to assist in keeping them away from foul language, violence etc.
I once saw a women with a child complaining about the foul language and alchoel abuse on the beer hill... The beer hill.
The hint to not take your toddlers there is in the friken name.
same. my mate got threatened last year, and this year.
he said to the cops, i didnt know it was illegal to cheer for my team at the football? everyone booed to copper and he went on his way
I think when you take your kids to the footy you have to expect them to hear swear words.Perhaps not on Family Hill but elsewhere definitely.
We sit in the Eastern Concourse and my 10 year daughter doesn't bat an eyelid anymore when she hears a swear word.It just comes with the territory. If you want to ensure your kids don't hear swear words or see drunken people the only thing you can do is stay at home to watch the game.Even home isn't completely safe in that regard....
Continual or loud swearing shouldn't be accepted in any of the seated areas. People don't have an option to move away.I've had people complain to me about that in the Peter Burns and Southern Stand about that in the past.
If they don't want to hear that stuff, there is the Family Hill as JimBob said.

Playing devil's advocate here, but why is swearing OK at the footy but not in other public places?
Not if there are kids around, no.Do you swear at a pub?

So you have never had a boozy lunch and sworn near children? It happens not really a hanging offence.
I think there is a difference between an some swearing like "oh for **** suck" and a tirade along the lines of "you stupid **** how the **** could you not see that go **** yourself ****"
Don't mind for the first would use the second at home with the lads.

As I said, playing devil's advocate. It just seems swearing is tolerated more at the footy than other public places. Just wondering why?

The language is nothing compared to what it used to be years ago. The club have done a good job from them days.
While it would nearly impossible to stamp out, I'm glad they are policing it.
HahaMate, I have never heard you swear.
