I find it really offensive when any swearing is yelled out at game's of football. I use foul language more than anyone when I'm with my mates, but when there are children around at the footy, I find it completely inappropriate. Some Storm supporters are true ferals.

i'm happy to swear if I can't see any kids in the vicinity. I know this doesn't always mean that kids won't be hearing me, but I at least try to stick to simple words such as "wanker", "dick flop", "**** house". I've never claimed to be a beacon of decency though.

I can deal with deal with foul language to a degree, but not when it's on the Family Hill. That's meant to be a place where parents can take their kids and not have to deal with drunken idiots calling the ref a ******.

I do also think it's up to the parents to assist in keeping them away from foul language, violence etc.

I once saw a women with a child complaining about the foul language and alchoel abuse on the beer hill... The beer hill.

The hint to not take your toddlers there is in the friken name.

I would like to see that the hill areas are 18+ only. It's unacceptable that kids see adults behave the way they do when they are at the football, i mean why are you getting drunk with your kids there in a crowd? Probably the worst place. I'll definitely be on the family hill if i take kids. My foul language at time's might be a problem. But i feel my witty banter on the hill will be missed.

Taking the swearing and abuse out of the more boisterous pockets of fans is akin to taking the shoulder charge out of the game.

A friend got threatened by the police for swearing on the beer hill at last year's south's game, absolute joke. i'd tone it down if I was on the family hill but anywhere else is fair game imo.

I went to watch us play Wests at Campbelltown a few years ago and sat on the hill. I have never heard anything like it. The crude, sexual language these bogans were yelling at the cheer girls, with young kids around, was disgusting. I couldn't believe parents didn't say anything.

Family hill should be an absolute no swearing area. Else where I think is fair game but you still have to respect other people if you are asked to stop either stop or move along. I'm hopeless at the footy I'm always swearing but I try my best to respect the needs of those around me.

I think when you take your kids to the footy you have to expect them to hear swear words.Perhaps not on Family Hill but elsewhere definitely.
We sit in the Eastern Concourse and my 10 year daughter doesn't bat an eyelid anymore when she hears a swear word.It just comes with the territory. If you want to ensure your kids don't hear swear words or see drunken people the only thing you can do is stay at home to watch the game.Even home isn't completely safe in that regard....
