it's hard to work out how they could actually build a new stadium up against all the new construction on the eastern side ?
Previous changes were planned for the Western side, particularly the south-western side, linking ET Stand and Monty Porter Stand. Can't find the picture of it just now.

There was also an earlier plan for the Southern side: https://www.sharks.com.au/news/2017/06/02/sharks-strive-for-excellence/ . Fortunately that didn't happen, would have been a waste of money.

Regarding COE. I never knew we had our admin office on the other side of the soccer fields at the old Toyota factory but according to google that is our admin office.
How good would it be if we owned those soccer fields and the admin office.
Knock admin office down and build COE there and use/upgrade the soccer fields.

I have thought about this a lot in the past.
Here are a couple things.

  1. To do any of the below. First thing we would need to do is dig the field out and sink it into the ground so that we can have seating starting at current ground height of PB stand side. I want to make our stadium like a cauldron.
  2. Lower PB seating would be the same vertical as Parra and take up the same space as current lower PB seating but more seats available due to added vertical.
  3. Knock down middle PB stand and turn into corporate boxes with upper PB being extended out and more vertical. Underneath middle PB upgraded toilets, bar & food vendors.
  4. Continue PB lower seating all the way around southern & hill sides. This would continue around some of the ET side.
  5. Knock down ET & Southern Stands.
  6. Rebuild an a L shape stand extending the length and width of the field on the Southern & PB stands that overhang a walkway between lower seating and start of stand. Again similar to Parra.
  7. On ET side on the new lower PB level of seating would be the locker rooms with a small amount of seating/disabled seating on top of them
  8. There would be added bathrooms, food vendors and merch incorporated in the Southern and ET stands.
  9. I have done nothing to family hill. Keep it as is but would be good to add a roof over the top coming out of the new ET stand and swinging around adding some cover for when it rain or is really sunny.
I have a great image of it all in my head but am hopeless at drawing so I have done a small map to hopefully explain it all better.

I know this is all fantasy and most likely impossible but if we had unlimited fund this is how I would do it.

It would allow us to modernize the stadium while still resembling what we currently have and works with the space we have by just making everything more vertical and on top of the area we already use.

Last note. I would not put the COE at shark park. Look at all the other COE. They all have multiple fields and are stand alone buildings.
Having it at the stadium would take up space that we don't have.

Should put it at Kareela or elsewhere
the northern end wouldnt change as the hill with those power lines would be Too expensive to move or relocate.

the figures I heard along the way for even partial upgrade is between $50 - $80 million (this is going back a few yrs) plus full upgrade be up around $160 millions onwards.
the COE would of incorporated southern and ET and house additional change rooms, admin, and corporate boxes, but with very limited seats.

$250m would have bought the NRL a great little boutique stadium in Sydney.

If one of Accor, or Allianz or Parra Stadium didn't exist, this would slot in nicely.

If they ever invested in our stadium, it would come with the clause that we share it with Dragons

I have heard that Dragons were moving a lot of their operations to gong; but with flanno now there. it could change.

Still wouldn't make any money out of it, crowds are too small.

Looks like Flanno is moving things back to Kogarah:

Not really.
The Dragons train in Wollongong with their Kogarah base only used occasionally. But next season the team will reportedly train there every Friday during pre-season and will maintain a presence throughout the rest of the year.

Doesn't seem like much progress on the Sharks shop in Cronulla... previous CEO update said they were hoping for October, but haven't seen any signs of work being done on it.

Probably no great rush now the season is over? Maybe good to have it done leading into Christmas though.

Will be interesting, really can't see it doing much business tbh, probably end up renting it out.

Yeah I agree, I don't think it will be making a killing with retail sales, so no big rush on that front.

But would definitely have been good to have the Membership team settled in there before the renewal season starts.

And I think it's just a bad look having it sit there empty (+ with Coming Soon signage).

Convert it into a Sharks Nest - a sports bar.
