Anyone who has seen Noddy and Tooves hosting that online footy show would wonder whether Noddy was capable of ordering off a set menu

Different people perform better in different environments. I'll comfortably type away any opinion here, might be a bit more reserved if we were all in person. Got no ****en idea how I'd fare in a studio talking to a camera.

I've been woken up at 7am by Toovey barking orders at an U20s side like a foul mouthed pit bull cracking into a bunch of posties in it's front yard - that **** gets his message across in the right setting, trust me!

He's been through hell personally & professionally it wasn't all rainbows & lollipops either. He's never packed it in, kept exploring new avenues to stay involved in the game. Tried his hand at lots since retirement 10yrs ago.

whats that got to do with anything?

luke ricketson is on the board of the roosters with no credentials, all he did was play 300 games and win a premiership, like noddy

Yep

and Greg Alexander is on the Panthers board

Lockyer is on the Broncos

If I could be ****ed I bet there's other ex players on boards.

My bad ,
I suppose I'm a bit biased against Noddy as a player ( played his best at other clubs ) and also as a representative of the Sharks after Preston Campbell / Dean Treister got shafted by his good mate Anderson .
Did SO much damage to our culture
BUT , If you all rate his board level skill set potential and he can do a great job in that role then fair enough .

PS : Would love Dean Treister to move back and take a role like that , he represents the Sharks with his passion .

being on the board of a NRL footy club doesn't mean you have to run the entire ****ing club - you partake in decision making processes and lend your viewpoints and experience while potentially heading up some particular areas of responsibility . you don't need to be a ruthless executive with 50 years of business experience as long as you can dress yourself and have some basic presentation skills. It's not ExxonMobil or Manchester United ffs

Wonder if Ben Ross is on the cards, been around actively involved in the club a while now. But the whole 'footy knowledge' and 'ex superstar' thing throws me but it's wouldn't be unlikely for Rothfield to exaggerate either

Could be E.T for all we ****ing know

Rothfield should write the answers upside down at the bottom of the page like the daily crossword puzzle

I loved both of those players but I also think Noddy was great for us.

I liked Noddy, busted his nut - literally and figuratively playing for us. He's in our team of the half century, was our captain. And despite playing for every other club in the NRL he calls the Sharks his club.

It's not his fault Treister and Graham got shafted, that's on Anderson.

The whole thing with Preston - that's on Anderson too, and Preston for that matter. Preston could have stuck around and fought for a position.

Not sure I agree he played his best footy with other clubs but suppose it's subjective. He did play most of his rep footy when he was with us I believe. Incl that intercept to Bowen haha.

Either way I think if he ends up on the board he's going to have the clubs best interest in mind, he's done a bit of coaching and played over 300+ games so going to be addition to the board from a Football perspective. I do wonder where he sits on the whole Flanno saga. If rumours are correct the board is split on bringing him back.

what I would give to have a half with Kimmorleys long kicking game again - and a team that would chase it

Barrett was such a step down

Why does everyone dismiss the possibility that it's Andrew Ettingshausen? He is arguably the greatest player to play for the Sharks and his passion for the team is unquestioned.

Kimmorley for Barrett was such a big loss for us, then replacing De Gois for Corey Hughes.

Wow. Your hate and opinion of Noddy is extremely misguided.
