I'm not sure what his position is but I'm happy to have him!

At least we are good for Tracey/Metcalf halves pairing next season

Yeah I don't know his best position, probably 14. His ability to cover the whole backline and hooker gives us alot of flexibility and options.

So another out the door following the player exodus.

Happy with this though.
A player who wants to be apart of our future, can be the ultimate 14, can fill in anywhere in the backline for a few weeks with injuries and wouldn’t be the worst option at 6 if we atleast got Reynolds but missed out on other options

Yep happy to keep him around. Good news.

And when the halves merry-go-round grinds to a halt, hopefully Trindall will still be here to partner him in our spine.

Not too worried if we miss on Reynolds or SJ moves on, both are injury prone and approaching their use by date, and Moylan is a total waste of cap space.

We're well and truly ****ed if that happens.

Think we'd just move from the merry-go-round to the rollercoaster mate

"Despite having his path somewhat blocked to his preferred positions in the halves"

Not sure what his best position for the team is but considering he has been playing "out of position" and our best player the past month is credit to him.

This also shows how bad our team is going - a fill in winger being our best player. This statement by no means takes away from Connor's efforts - i wish the rest of the team were playing with his effort levels.

I'm over having about 1/3 of our salary cap sitting on the sidelines, either injured or disinterested. Why take the risk on buying more problems.

At least with Trindall and Tracey you have a couple of young blokes that want to be here and will have a crack.

Because this year is a write-off it gives the club the opportunity to try some different combinations.

Happy to have him for the next 3 years but wonder how the body holds up especially if we keep using him out of the halves.
Young Dugan was 100 miles an hour bouncing around like Tracey is and now he's body is only held together by tape

Trindall tried to leave and came back when he got no other offers didn't he?
Could sign someone else mediocre who wants to be here as much as him

Now he's committed for three years we need to give him some solid time in the halves and see what that does, but maybe after our horror draw next few weeks.

Need enough outside backs available to free him up from filling in too!

If it helps I agree with the principle of what you are saying.

If Broncs are keen to spend something like 1.1/1.2 million on Reynolds and he wants us to match there is a pretty fair argument for saying no way.

Instead of spending 800k on him and 400k on 5/8 (if that is what we wanted to spend on SJ) we could definitely look at something like three of the guys from the bottom half of my list in rumour mill earlier, spending up around 800k. Then hoping competition between them, Tracey, Metcalf and Rivett forced two worthwhile players to the top of the pile and have another 400k or so to spend on props to make sure these guys have a forward pack they can play behind.
Another one not on my list is Broncos Tyson Gamble. If Reynolds went there he may be an option to bring here cheap. Him + Tracey certainly wouldn't leave you wishing for effort or passion (which makes them good players to have the other guys trying to outtrain/outplay).

Not a silly idea
