It doesnt have to.

I know gallens contract had a pay rise with the new cap. But not all.

Remember Carney is due for renewal, so theyll save some space for that.

Its not like the top 16 players are going to get 50K extra each. Selected players might get a sniff, but Im sure players would love the idea of replacing **** players with better players, even if it means these new guys eat into the new cap

In time the salaries will go up. If the cap goes up, and the number of players in a squad stays the same, then it stands to reason that salaries will rise (provided each club uses their whole cap).
