Why dont you interstate guys send an email to the club and see what can be done for you?

Might be suprised at what they reply with.

Well seeing they won't send an interstate Shark Net member their membership cap without me having to send the "Certified 2013 member" card to them in the post with name, address and member number on the back, I can't see them getting lots of signed posters together for other interstate members. Seriously, they couldn't even send me the cap from the details I provided them in an e-mail. How much easier is it to cross my name off a database from an e-mail compared to having to post them the stupid card and do exactly the same thing. Totally backwards and behind the times!

And don't get me started on their online membership site.Tried to sign up my boy on the day he was born but his DOB "date must be different than todays"
For a club that struggles for members we should be letting people sign up if there DOB is 10 years in the bloody future.

Every year it's the same gripes and every year it's the same excuses. If we are running a campaign and the membership campaign appears to be the one in vogue for all NRL clubs, then do it right and get some bloody hands on deck.

Seriously? Just wait a day. That would be a fairly standard data validation for most systems.

Yes seriously. With a name like born and bred you should understand, I wanted my son born a shark therefore a day later doesn't cut it.

And any standard data system should realise that it doesn't make the rules of nature and that people can be born on the same day you want to sign up to your club.

Ok I understand, just saying that would be a common problem that's all. One that used to drive me nuts as a systems admin years ago.

All work places these days are bound by many restrictions.

You mentioned 2 things that are of massive importance, not to mention training and induction at places of work (evac points and emergency procedures etc) all takes time and money.

Not to mention rules on confidentialty and potential of working with children.

Sometimes its easier to say "thanks but no thanks".
It's a real shame that it's so hard to organise this sort of thing these days.

I reckon as far as priorites go for the club that would be at the bottom of the pile.
