while everyone else out there hugging and laughing , this warrior looking shattered in the dressing room

That image after the game broke my heart. The poor bloke did everything he could and was absolutely busted setting an NRL tackle record

Did more than anyone could ask or expect, still looked devo about losing the game and it not being enough

Monumental effort

Needs to sleep in an ice bath
Can’t get over this Herculean effort - absolutely insane to go a tackle a minute

Really makes the signing of Finucane seem surplus. On 2/3 Dale's money & younger too.

The scary part ? We only got to see how amazing he was because Dales injury forced the coaches hand

Should’ve been starting 13 from 10 weeks ago at least

Don’t want to put Dale on the bench ? then give him the prop spot instead of Oregon

We can also emphatically put to bed the question marks from some people about this guys ability to still play 80 minutes.

I still think there’s merit in starting him at hooker for the first 20 minutes with Williams at lock, then move Cam to lock and bring on Brailey from the bench to see if it’ll help Blayke at all. If not, then the 13 jersey is Cams as far as im concerned.

I was for him playing 80 minutes last week. The blokes crazy. Also down to have him start at hooker if possible. Start Williams at 13 and Williams can have his first break and Cam could take his spot for the rest of the game.

Get the record you beast
One good thing from game please
Is it a record we really want though???

Fantastic effort by Cam don’t get me wrong (superhuman in fact) , but Personally, I think it shows very poorly on the team as a whole and last time I looked, it’s a team sport!

It’s absolutely an accomplishment to be proud of
Defence is half the game and he just gave a defensive workload greater than anyone ever has before
A big part of Cams role in the team is to make tackles
The goal isn’t to end up with everyone on the field having equal stats

I’m not saying it’s not.
If you read my post, I said it was ”Superhuman” but as a team, do we really want a player with that record?

I‘m suggesting not, because it’s a bad look for “the team” (It is a team support right?)
How many teams win games when they have 1 player as a stand out like that in D?
My uneducated guess (but a few have come to mind) that it’s more often than not a loss for their side.

Id much rather an even defensive effort shared across the team and a “W”, than an incredible/ superhuman/ outstanding accomplishment stat and a loss.

I reckon we lose that game even if he makes 40 less tackles personally
I’d rather a win than Cam have the all time tackle record too but it wasn’t happening

The guy works his dick off for our team (not to mention his face) - deserves an accomplishment out of it.

If a fullback scored three solo tries on kick returns would anyone say that reflects badly on the team?
Cam has a role in the team and did the absolute **** out of it regardless of what anyone else did or didn’t do, or the final result.

He has the record now anyway, if our team doesn’t want someone with that record are we gonna kick him out? Obviously not

To see one dude give so much heart and body legitimately could be a kick up to arse to the side to look at how they could do better.

You are missing my point.

Yes, it was amazing, and it’s something HE can be extremely proud of, but it’s not something the club or his team mates should be proud of.

It should be celebrated by Fitz but only to embarrass the rest of his team mates (well some at least) and inspire them to lift so Cam doesn’t need to make all of those tackles.

I’m not missing your point, I just don’t fully agree with it.

Teammates can’t be proud to play alongside someone who did something amazing?

It’s impressive (which yes, you’re also saying) I don’t think anyone is saying it is a club accomplishment or better than a win or anything.

I’d like to think the players respect the effort enough to aim up without needing to be embarrassed into it, but you never know.

As a fan I’m amazed and proud of his effort
