Hi everyone! I'm really sorry I haven't posted anything until now, I really hope you don't think I was being rude! I have actually been at work all day - I'm at work right now as I type this - so I haven't been near a computer since the show.

In actual fact, I almost didn't go to the show! I was originally on a morning shift but we had a situation at work and I got called in. I told Fitz I couldn't come to the show and he was all "OH NO, YOU HAVE TO COME - THERE IS SOMETHING ABOUT THE CSSC AND GAL AND COVELL WILL BE THERE!"

So I told him I would have to get permission from my team leader to take a few hours off in the middle of my shift. If he had said "No" all the boys hard work would have been screwed!

Luckily, there was a happy ending and throughout the whole thing, I never suspected a thing!

I have to say, I am extremely humbled by this and feel a bit undeserving to be honest. All I do is support the team I love, like all of you. Fitz, Sharks Forever, Gil and many others put in thousands of dollars and hours of work into the Club and I kinda wish they had been the recipient.

On the other hand - HELL NO! - THAT WAS AWESOME!

I will have to go now but before I do, I would just like to acknowledge all the hard work that Fitz put into this, you have no idea how much effort went into it (my wife told me!). Also Gil and all the other people who were involved (I'll thank you all personally soon) you have no idea how much this means to me. It is just another reason that the Cronulla Sharks are the greatest club in the NRL and it's fans are the best people you will ever meet!

I'll post some more soon, gotta get back to work.

Fitz, you are a legend, love ya brother!:cheers:good::cheers:)

Yeah we know you're too good for us now Hollywood. :glasses-cool: Seriously though I can't think of anyone who deserves it more... your car alone deserves it!

I am quite amazed you weren't aware of it - a few people did some good work keeping the surprise. Nice work getting the answers right by the way.

IronShark - you are a perfect example of the true Sharks supporter, the team I have followed faithfully since the age of 5 in 1967. I was born in Caringbah hospital in 1962 and have always stuck with the team & club through some frustating times. And yes - I do Believe.

Unfortunately I live in Brisbane now, but every time I drive down there and go over Tom Ugly's bridge I feel like I'm coming home.

I've never met you, but you have met my son recently (can you pick who that was?) - but I hope one day to shout you 100 beers and talk about the Sharks and the Shire's proud history.

Fitz - I agree with Iron, you are a legend, and this site is a godsend for fans like me that live away from the Shire but hunger every single day for news and rumours involving the club & team that I love. I'd like to assist in any way I can but not sure I can do much from up here.

Up Up CRONULLA!

G'day guys, it's Sunday morning and I'm still working! At least the job I was on has been wrapped up and I'm in the office with a bit of time to spare, so I just thought I would take the time to tell you a few of the things that went on behind the scenes that didn't make the show.

Apparently, Fitz, Gil and the boys were at my place for about three and a half hours for the filming, getting everything ready with the help of my wife and oldest son, Jack.

There was plenty of footage that didn't make the final cut, including the Mermaids doing a "B-R-A-D" chant that was quite funny. My wife videoed this one so I'll post it up for everyone to check out when I get a chance.

There was also a skit involving our cat (which you see Cov patting in my gym). Gal says to Cov something along the lines of "Hey look - Jason Stevens is here! Oh no, it's a different cat!"

My wife said that both Gal and Cov were really nice, despite the fact she didn't know who either of them were! (She has no interest in football whatsoever:() In fact, when they came to the house, Gal said "Hi, I'm Paul Gallen" and my wife said, "Oh, hi...do you play for the Sharks?"

Despite not knowing who they were from a bar of soap, my wife said they were both very nice and was especially impressed with Gal. My son Jack had stayed home from school for the morning to see the fun and meet the players and when it was finished, he didn't want to go to school. Gal said to him, "Come on mate, you have to go to school, it's important. If you go to school, I'll give you my shirt." Jack jumped at the chance to get Paul Gallens training shirt and Gall took it off on the spot and gave it to him and went home shirtless!

There was also some footage of the Mermaids jumping on my kids trampoline, didn't get any video of that, sorry boys.

My wife has taken lot's of photos of the day, so I'll put them up when I get the chance.

Thanks to Gal and Cov for the time and effort they put in along with Fitz and the boys. It's just another reason why Gal should be our captain for the rest of his career.:good:

Thanks for sharing all that IronShark! That's so bloody awesome! You must still be pinching yourself haha.
So proud to be a Shark and hear these stories, especially the bits about Gal. What a champion that man is. I love hearing stuff like that, thanks again for sharing.
