This is not a criticism so should not be taken as such

Briton has seemed quite lately

I say seemed because he is still posting good numbers with metres and tackles

I take it as a good sign we are not overly relying on him on the edge and that other forwards have started to step up along with our entire back line

A poster mentioned that Nikora's role and type of ball he is getting has changed since Trindall came into the team so there might be something in that
Maybe. Not necessarily a bad thing though. If you are not noticing your edge forwards it sometimes means they are just doing their jobs. Imo he doesn’t necessarily need to be on our highlight reel as long as he’s not on theirs.

He tried to get on the highlight reel with his last play of the game

We had become pretty predictable too. It can't hurt for us to be running fine different shapes at this point (so long as they work!).

Anyone think he’ll get Dally M 2nd rower of the year?

Only other player I think who can get it would be Fifita.

Fifita would get more dally m votes I’d think

Nikora could make team of the year… being a bit quieter last couple weeks when we win doesn’t help, but most have been saying it’s him and Fifita - matched up this weekend and neither really stamped themselves as the clear better player

Think he is 4th

Haumole
Keon
Fifita

Ahead of him
Yeah thought Keoghan might be up there also.

Ola’kuatu though for me has been a bit quiet after origin. Prior to origin I thought he was 100% going to be picked due to form. Has kind of drifted off these past 2 months imo.

Koloamatangi was amazing pre injury. I think he's had a quiet back half of the season. But it's probably splitting hairs.
They move him in to the middle sometimes. He's not very effective in there. Reminds me of a big kid who only likes to run at small kids.

Good article from a few weeks back, can't see it mentioned in this thread:

A few quotes:

Shane Flanagan wanted his Sharks side to get a little more physical in the days when Cronulla were the toughest team this side of the equator. He summoned the under-age side against them and said, “Do your best”. James Maloney was standing opposite a young New Zealand kid, who a few were tipping to eventually make it.

Whoosh.

The kid went straight past Maloney. Next to him, one of the club’s senior players, Wade Graham, turned around and wondered what had just happened.

“He got us a couple of times then when he was younger,” Graham laughs. “I remember seeing him and taking notice of him. Brit’s always been a great line runner, it’s just a great skill of his.”

According to Ramien, this is where Nikora finds his voice, demanding one of the NRL’s most influential players – Hynes – give him the ball when he wants it, not when the halfback thinks he should get it.
According to NRL.com, no Cronulla player has run more decoys (96) this year than Nikora, who is starting to command so much attention the Sharks use him as a diversion.

its actually a really close race

Fifita: 7 tries, 9 assists, 16 runs, 151 meters, 5.9 tackle breaks, 1.8 offloads, 91% tackling, 6 penalties, 9 errors

Nikora: 8 tries, 4 assists, 11 runs, 104 meters, 2.4 tackle breaks, 1 offload, 92% tackling, 9 penalties, 12 errors

Haumole: 8 tries, 3 assists, 13 runs, 127 meters, 3.5 tackle breaks, 0.5 offloads, 91% tackling, 13 penalties, 12 errors

Keon: 5 tries, 2 assists, 14 runs, 136 meters, 2.1 tackle breaks, 1 offload, 92% tackling, 5 penalties, 11 errors

stats source: league live app

i put it in order as to how it should be voted after looking at the stats, brit is easily top 2, and he may not be second

Can't believe Olakauatu and Koloamatangi didn't get more attention around origin. I know Keaon got injured, but there still wasn't much talk I don't think.

Certainly ran all over it little Moylan. That was a tough game to watch.
