His speed and elusiveness would be very handy with a few hit ups in with the pigs.

The stats are pretty funky without doing a burgo deep dive as many of these guys played some (even most) of their games in middle but per Fox stats Nikora ranked 74th for back rowers (333rd overall) for 1 pass hit ups, with average of 2 per game last year.
For runs in general he ranked 42nd (250th overall), 8 per game.

Wilton averaged 6th with 8 per game.
He did play some middle, and some centre. (#1 is JT13 with average 10 per game, not really an edge.)
For all runs Wilton averaged 13, good for 7th (81st overall).

But the general gist of these numbers is Nikora takes very few simple hit ups and typically does most of his runs as part of back line plays, where he is no guarantee to get the ball.

Can’t find complete enough old stats to try and compare if he took more runs (by the numbers) in first year, without looking game by game.
But in his first ever game he had 14 runs and last weekend he had 6. 14 is near to double his last season average. Following rounds he took 9, 8, 13, 14, 10 - last round that year 17, final we lost 13. So in games I checked in his first year his least runs was equivalent to last years average.

He did also score 7 tries, then 5, then 4, so on that return his popularity also likely to decline…

He’s not a Cronulla type player - let him go and continue to develop Wilton, save the bank and spend elsewhere.

Nikora is in the on/off Moylan SJ type bracket, can go completely missing - those types of players usually end up at the warriors

Only ran for 59m and missed 6 tackles last night (nrl stats).

Let him go.

When Wade is back, coach needs to decide between Wade, Teig and Nikora.

Teig and Wade are work horses.

Add in McInnes and Dale, we have 5 x 80 backrowers to fill 3 positions

Edit, Wade might not play the full 80. But if he plays, he starts.

Coach will only be deciding between Teig and Nikora mate, Wade is straight back in when fit.

Advantage Nikora after trials, Teig probably closed the gap and I’d say advantage Teig.
But now he’s suspended a week…
Also fighting against the fact he’s the one who has to change sides, Nikora would just be holding his spot and combinations

been saying it for over 12 months, Tieg shits all over Nikora. he gives it everything week in week out and I think it's just the beginning with him, bright future ahead

maybe Nikora meeting with Madge is a bit about money and a bit about seeing the writing on the wall at cronulla. Wade will always get picked if fit and surely Nikora can relise he isn't playing at Tiegs level consistently.

playing for a low rent team with no realistic finals chances like the tigers might take the pressure off a bit and let him cruise which he seems to enjoy but the expectations at the Sharks are only going to get higher and the standards stricter

Tieg wants so spend his career at the Sharks, if Fitz picked Nikora over Tieg it would be one of his first major selection **** ups IMO

Nikora just seems to look lazy.
He seemed to have a half decent game 1 but his game 2 effort seemed to look a world apart.

he makes tackles

but we can't have him there just for that. if we wanted a defensive forward we could prob find someone better to do that role

the other forwards manage to make tackles and have an impact with the ball in attack. it's like he makes tackles, gets a bit tired and thinks job done.

all the 80 min players are gunna get fatigued but look at Wilton, still manages to show up and put a big effort in attack
