Iv been waiting since as long as i remember for the sharks to win a comp and im 25 now, although i love seeing them win, some years i just aint been confident that they will win the comp, iv been right. This year though, im as confident as i was in 1999, the team is going awsome and i think they will still get better. I know i ended devasted and in tears in 99 as well as the other years we fell short but this year i dont think that will happen, i hope not.
GO YOU SHARKIES

Welcome to Emu Plains, please be sure to visit our
this is definantly a turning point...last year we had the winning streak at the start but this year its coming towards the end so it will be different..if we can keep flying under the radar..we will be a threat..if everyone can keep playing for each other, the team, the club and the fans...if noddy doesnt stuff things up..if dykes can come back n play as good as he did b4 getting injured we can win...if vagana, albert, simmons can get in there n get involved we can win and if we can keep our defence tight n score lots of points we can win.

Tigers keen on Noddy

17 September 2006
The Sunday Telegraph

Tim Sheens last night admitted Wests Tigers might be interested in taking Brett Kimmorley off Cronulla's hands -- but only at the right price.

The Sharks halfback is a close friend of coach Chris Anderson, whose signing to the Roosters on Friday led to immediate speculation Kimmorley might be headed to Bondi Junction.

Roosters chief executive Brian Canavan ruled that out. But Sheens refused to "confirm or deny" interest in Kimmorley, although he imagined the cost would be "prohibitive".

But Sheens said: "As far as whether we're interested in [the former Test half], I would neither confirm nor deny it at this stage.

"Anyone would be interested in a player like him but I would imagine the cost would be prohibitive. We're interested in any quality player, but ..."

Insiders say that while Kimmorley is popular in the shire and highly regarded as a player, his $425,000 annual fee is seen as the ticket to funding the cleanout many are pushing for.

Even if the Sharks contributed to a Kimmorley contract at the Tigers, the money saved would help them sign Ricky Stuart as coach and upgrade the contract of NSW lock Paul Gallen, who has asked for a release.

But when asked if there was any prospect of the playmaker not being at the club next season, Cronulla chief executive Greg Pierce said: "No."

"This is the sixth or seventh call I've received on this issue and the only people saying it are the media. Neither Brett nor his manager has come to me."

Greg Pierce can get rid of him but we will not get any money out of it, noddy has to want a realease, than we dont need to pay him out, if noddy dont want to go and they get rid of him, we will be in sh1t with money.

Matts spot on. Unless Noddy asks for a release he wont be going anywhere. The Tigers have already said that they can't match the $ so what incentive is there for him unless they give him a 3 - 4 year contract. Noddy has made it clear during the year when Anderson was rumoured to be going to Canberra to coach that he wouldn't mind linking up with Anderson again.

Let's be honest however who would pay $425k per season for Noddy? I think you'll find with Easts that $300k would be pushing it and they may have to contemplate whether this is permissable within their salary cap.

Errr Easts and a salary cap? Just a wishful thought!!

Honestly, what has noddy done since joining the sharks?

Beat Newcaslte by heaps once, beat Manly by heaps once, threw THAT intercept pass in Origin 1 last year.

People go on about all the good stuff he's done in his career, but it seems like he's done nothing much since he came here. Is he worth what we pay him any more, or is it all reputation?

yeah i agree. look, i've always been a fan of his - he does some special things, like that time on the second tackle he saw no fullback and just chipped over the crossbar for himself with the side of his boot, and the ball just stopped for him to ground. but then again, his typical game just isn't so special.

someone on this forum once said something like "is it so much to ask for me to be excited when the sharks are in the opposition 20?". Maybe we do need some spark, maybe from somewhere else.

That's why i think seymour was a good signing; he'll have time to adjust to the sharks' game before being relied on by himself in 2008 at halfback - Noddy's not going anywhere this year

So we lay the blame all on Kimmorley? Kimmorley has been an integral part of the team since joining, he excelled under the right coaching conditions, with support from other players and the right tactical approach the guy will put opposing teams away with ease its just plain dumb to suggest otherwise.

So he threw an intercept pass in origin which cost the game, do we blame him or his support players who were in bad positions and forced him to throw that pass in an effort to reach his support players, is he the only guy in the world who throws intercepts? he is far from it. If the pass was thrown in any other game we would all have forgotten it after a week and life would have moved on but some people just cant let it go.

I say again when he is supported well and given the right tactical approach from a decent coach he will win with ease, Systems dont make players............players make systems, something stuart raper could surely try to understand.

Seymour is most definately not a halfback. He is a natural 5/8 and the halfback experiment did not work at the Broncs, why would we replicate that?

Look for Kearney in the 7 come 08 and Seymour to be at 5/8.

Yes, Seymour has stated that his preferred position is five-eighth but for sure, he also has utility value in that he can cover half and hooker. Will hopefully be a valuable acquisition and give us a bit of depth in those areas.

Hey mate,
I wasn't trying to say that we lay all the blame on Kimmorley. I actually like the bloke. It just seems that not much has gone his way since joining the sharks, and perhaps for him and us, it's time for a change. If my memory serves me right, things weren't going well with his/Ando's style of gameplay before we kicked Ando out either, it's not just since Raper's been here.

Other people have said that the flat-attack style of play is ineffective against the standard of today's defence - I don't really know enough to comment, but it doesn't seem to be working.

I felt so much pain for Kimmorley that night. Even the commentators were saying it was a pass that could have gone either way, and if it wasn't intercepted, would've resulted in a NSW try ... but it didn't.

All that said, Kimmorley's not entirely innocent either - he has his faults too.

Obviously something in our team isn't working. Dykes and Kimmorley passionately deny that there's any problem between them, depsite the stats. I just hope whatever the problem is gets figured out really soon.

I agree with you Porntstar, his game is effected by the things around him, although being a professional he can/could make some adjustments.

Funny how people remember those negatives about Kimmorley, and forget before Dykes came back Kimmorley was doing it all himself.

I see both points, he will free up money for better things, but to me he is also a intergrale part of our team and we can use the coolness and experience he has, his committment on the park shows his professionalism.

there is no doubt that kimmorley was a great player, but he has really dropped off since he has come to us and his gameplay hasn't changed one bit. i used to love watching him play, but now he just doesn't seem to put everything into every game and it is really starting to show through

well if a 4 times premiership winning coach claims that 'anyone would be interested in Noddy' it says something...but maybe you are all to blind to see it
