OK the fact he has charged has been confirmed, but I ask you to PLEASE still be careful with what you say.

Let's stick to the football ramifications of it, and avoid assuming guilt on any aspects of it.

NRL policy for failed illicit drug tests. It's mainly in reference to caught under NRL testing but I'm sure the same rules apply - except they will throw in the 'placing game into disrupte' category.

Under NRL rules, a first positive result is only shared with the club chief executive and doctor. The player receives a suspended fine and is required to undergo counselling.

A second strike sees the player cop a 12-match ban and “the prospect of contract termination, a fine, and further treatment and monitoring”, according to the NRL.

Yep. It's what he's alleged to have taken is concerning the most.

You watch all the news articles bring up the Sharks and Asada again!!!

Yea acting like coke makes you a better strong player or something... having a bit of coke (alleged) was the least potentially harmful thing he did that night really and the quality of stuff that comes into Aus is so bad it was probably mostly chalk and baking powder anyway.

FMD we don't really need this **** all through the media and socials, it doesn't help anyone and it won't change anything or teach anyone any lessons so what good does it do. Media feed off this gossip/drama crap

Counseling for wanting to have a bit of fun and let his hair down - the only mistake he made was getting in that car. Don't think he needs counseling to know that was a bad call.

Credit to him owning up to it and not hiding it from the club or NRL, they would have found out anyway and just made things worse for him

He's gonesky, gonna fail the test. Just get on the piss and use uber ffs
I genuinely starting to think he will be. We have a no D head policy and the combination of all 3 (driving on alcohol, driving on drugs, driving no license) is going to look horribly bad in the media and the courts.

When’s Ben Hunt available?

Classic Cronulla. Whenever we finally get our **** together on the field, something like this always happens.

We’re not allowed to have nice things, never forget that.

I think most NRL clubs would take a 24-36 month period of no off field dramas or scandals - we have done quite well really keeping it together this long

You're kidding right? You can't condone an illegal drug mate. You think it's acceptable eh?
Yeah, he can. Might be news to you, but drugs aren't taboo like they used to be. You'll be harder pushed finding someone under 30 who hasn't tried something rather than has.

However, there is no excuse for driving under the influence.

Sorry mate I can't agree. I don't care if people think drugs aren't taboo, they destroy families and lives.

False positives happen all the time at roadside let's wait until the other testing comes back before condemning him there.

Driving drunk on a suspended licence is the height of stupidity and I'm incredibly disappointed with that alone.
The fact it's tricky and we share a hometown makes it sting even more, but support the club doing what it may have too here.
