He probably wanted to fly under the radar at training and hope no one realised his condition. Turning up in an uber would have been unusual and would probably have drawn some attention.
Not saying that makes it any more excusable but just trying to work out his rationale at the time.
I see what you mean, but he has a suspended license. Wouldn’t it look more suspect to the club him pulling up in his own car?

Without knowing details it’s possible that he has woken up late from a big night out and missed his lift to training. Without thinking of his consequences if he’s caught driving in his car, he was probably thinking of his consequences if he missed training.

is the licence suspended or expired ?
Formerly suspended, was expired when this occurred

Per above club probably know his suspension is up, don't know he didn't bother to pay for a new license.

Consequences of missing training can be brutal, ask young Jackson Topine
Even if they took it easy on Trindall not sure he has the remaining head of hair to pull off blonde although killing his hair follicles may have been for the best

Ah this is a big piece of information I’ve missed. Bit of an unlucky situation for Tricky then, minus the DUI.

Yeah as a young man/footballer who’s just cracked his NRL spot, football is everything to them so can understand how they don’t want to miss training. And yes the consequences can be brutal these day, even losing your spot in the team is a possibility.

It's more an issue for him (from both legal and club consequences) that it is expired due to driving issues in the past than the fact it was expired at the time. In the scheme of things expired license he hasn't bothered to pay for is pretty minimal issue - but the why will have some impact.

Don't know how you'd turn up to training in that poor a condition to perform when you've got a bloke like Cam next to you working his arse off for you. There's no mistake that the standards are a lot higher than that at the Sharks (these days at least)

Dale did Sunday training for injured players even though he’d decided to retire Thursday

Hell, he was probably at the Monday session

If he’s made it to training, would have been like a greyhound chasing a lure running laps like Usain Bolt. Got caught own it move on be smarter.
As wilson stated few posts above old enough to know better young enough to do something dumbarse.
