Plays better when he is the pretend No. 7
The number makes a big difference.

Though he was playing a fair bit of halfback, just straight out of dummy half.
It was always my pet peev, our insistence on the extra pass to Nicho on virtually every tackle. It seemed to allow the defence extra time to close in. Last night's direct style is way better. Let Blayke steer us around and the halves get their shapes into gear.

Yeah that pass it to Nicho every tackle strategy did my head in.

He needs to stop it and Brailey needs to stop it when he comes back

Don't think it'll be up to Brailey, but hopefully Fitz likes what he saw last night

His interview after the match was interesting; he mentioned the 4 forward system and how well it worked (again) - and whether or not we stick with it in the future. Surely there will be some big discussions in the next few days internally between the coaching staff and players.

All deends if the forwards are locked in
Our forwards were stronger, consistent and smarter last night

Minor mistakes but rose above their pack

It's up to all of them to get it right (Brailey, Nicho, Tricky and Fitz). Fitz always talks about him wanting his players to play what they see (goes back to the initial Hynes / Moylan days)

I don't think Fitz and directing them to straight to Nicho all time.

Can depend also on if it’s a team (or if there are individual players) we want to attack around the ruck, or make them move laterally a lot. Work over the A defenders and markers, or run wider and move more defenders and attack at (what should be) slightly more spaced defenders.

I also think that both Nicho the main character and Trindall who simply must be out 7 both like to be on the ball. I absolutely think they both can too, with a relatively even split of possession. BUT I think that leave no room at all for Blayke to play his full skillset.

Atko maybe seems like he’s just as happy to sit back as he on ball so for Blayke specifically he could be a better option in the halves than Trindall (sorry, I’m not dropping Hynes)
