You’re making it sound like Brailey was creating just as much as Api was..
Imo when the Sharks and Tigers had an even share of ball Brailey was creating MORE than Api was.

It’s not just about try scoring plays.

You put Brailey in that Tigers team yesterday and there is no way he gets anywhere close to what Api did and if you put Api in that Sharks team yesterday he creates chances/opportunities that Brailey could never.
Disagree.

Brailey actually had games last year with similar possession and opportunities as Api did last night, with similar results.

Brailey had many opportunities to ice on their line, set after set we were camped there.
Brailey had one opportunity to take advantage of a quick ptb with no markers inside 20. Setup one try.

Being camped at the attacking end means bugger all for the hooker creating opportunities if the forwards are getting rolled on their backs like puppy dogs.

I’m ok with understanding Brailey will never be that guy that turns a game for us.
Sure. That doesn’t mean he’s garbage though.

. you literally could’ve put Berrell in there yesterday and the result would’ve been the same
Again - sure. From the 25 minute mark there were more poor performances from Sharks players that could be made up for by any single player.

Hooker is dependent on the other players putting in a competent performance, and his team having the ball

Burg do you rate Braileys game yesterday more than a 7 out of 10 ?

I don’t think Brailey is garbage I just think he’s average maybe better than average some games

For sure.

Was 9/10 in defence… which is what he did most of the night.

Easily better than 7/10 in that first 25. Even if you want to say he was average in attack after that, it’s not on him that they never had the ball.

People remember the end more than the start though. As I always say, playing great in the first half and then being “just ok” after that won’t get you as much love as having a stinker for 60 and a blinder in the final 20.

Here is one where he goes. Gets tackled by Galvin who is clearly not square. No call.

4 minutes after this... Brailey uses good pass selection to Kaufusi, six-again and quick ptb, sets up a 4 on 2 (or 5 on 3) on the left edge. Trindall ****s it up.

Talakai and Ronnie unmarked outside WK here. Trindall runs sideways and then throws a **** pass which hits the deck.

(they score 2 players later anyway).

Ensuing set Brailey holds up the markers, gives Nicho time and space. This leads to the Katoa line break.

2 mins later Brailey and Hynes get Kaufusi 1 on 1. He gets a quick ptb and it creates a 4-on-3. Hynes throws a **** pass, then instead of diving on it Trindall kicks it off the deck straight down Bula's throat.

I appreciate you going to the efforts of doing that 👊🏽

But I do feel like this is Chad Townsend and Matt Moylan all over again and those examples prove that Braileys game was no where near as valuable as Api’s

so he sets up one try, sets up a situations for line breaks and situations for us to score two more but the halves stuff it up. this was all in 25 to 30 min period.

what more would you like him to do?

pass it to himself so nobody stuffs it up?

I saw Josh Hodgson score a try against us doing that once

As I said mate... you wanted examples so you could disregard them ;)

The way the game is commentated and reported heavily over-values the guy who threw the last pass and criminally undervalues the guy whose job it is to count the numbers and create the space. I think you've been sucked in to that.

If he would be so kind to do so, that would be great. 👍

Didn't have enough ball, too much defense

Well the only thing stopping him stripping it and going the length was his averageness

No need for cheap shots, I don’t need to rattle Off times where you were wrong about certain players😉
I don’t disregard those examples,I just don’t think he’s great.. those are examples of things most of the average 9’s do.

Your examples just validated that Brailey didn’t have anywhere near a game that was as effective as Api’s 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’ve got higher standards for Brailey and feel he can do more than just that

You could’ve put Berrel in the team on the weekend and the result would’ve been the exact same, to me if we want to win the comp Brailey needs to be more than that

I didn't say he was as effective as Api in the game. I said that for the period where the possession was roughly even Brailey was having a bigger impact on the game than Api.

Then Api gets 55 minutes of choice possession and field position; Brailey gets tackling practice.

If you think Brailey can win the game from his own end of the field without the ball, your standards are too high.

Brailey has all the potential in the world to be better than he currently is. That’s all

6 years into his career, senior player of the team, key position, local club, on good money, no injuries etc etc

He is a major key to how well the Sharks go
