He was half the player Api was this game but hardly what our problem was

Good games we won, still on the bus with the rest of the team this week

Maybe if we had prime Smith we get through today okay but was far from the hookers fault
Api won them that game

Sure I just don’t know why Brailey gets half the wraps he does
He has been good. Even running it more, just like we wanted. He's building, not doubt. The ball to Tommy for the try was very selective and sharp

Thought he was outstanding in the first half when the Sharks actually had the ball. Was every bit as good as Api right up until the point when possession swung to 70%+ in the Tigers favour.

Pretty hard for a hooker to have any influence on his team's attacking game when they don't have the ball though. Tackled his ass off, didn't miss many, didn't make any errors. Hardly a masterclass but he wasn't the problem.

nah nah nah

How ?

Apart from that pass to Hazelton which was well played, Brailey added zilch to our attack - he didn’t make no difference to our final result what so ever

I would love for someone to tell me the moments where Brailey caused the Tigers any problems

The gap between him and the better 9’s was clear last night

Haha - so you can ignore or disregard them?

Brailz was all over the Tigers for the first 25 or so. Then Hynes, Trindall, Ramien, McInnes and Hazelton decided they would try to jam as many errors and penalties into a 30 minute period as humanly possible, Brailey gets 30 minutes of tackle practice.

Thought he was hard done by on at least one occasion when he ran at some offside defenders and they made the tackle and weren't penalised.

Do the refs look at that kind of play as milking these days?

No, genuinely asking.

If someone’s going to say Brailey was having as good as a first half as Api was then I’d love to know the moments (other than the Hazelton play) that gave you that impression ?

Api single handedly through his own runs and smarts destroyed us - saying Brailey had as good of a game even if just for the first half is wild to me but I’m happy to be corrected

Yea and they are not the ones I'm thinking of
So it’s Blayke’s fault he wins our player of the year and absolutely nobody else in our entire club has any responsibility to play up to a level to win it instead - and that is a criticism of Blayke?

I wouldn’t say Api did it single-handedly. He did it on the back of having time and space. That is dependent on other players within his own team providing offloads, quick ptb’s and pushing up in support.

When the game was close to 50/50 possession Blayke was having the better game and was having a greater influence on the result through engaging the markers to get his runners into space, plus some good runs. Some where he should have been rewarded with 6-again calls, and at least one run where if he had support it could have led to a line break and/or try. The difference was that Api had Olam pushing up, and Blayke had nobody.

Once the Tigers got a massive share of possession Api was able to ice a few big moments.

Blayke was only given one opportunity in the attacking end with time and space, which he also iced.

If the Tigers halves were a cluster**** for 30 minutes straight and Blayke had a hand in 3 tries on the back of 75% possession people would be saying he can only do it against **** teams.

In this 30 minute instance Api only did it against a **** team.

You’re making it sound like Brailey was creating just as much as Api was..

You put Brailey in that Tigers team yesterday and there is no way he gets anywhere close to what Api did and if you put Api in that Sharks team yesterday he creates chances/opportunities that Brailey could never. Brailey had many opportunities to ice on their line, set after set we were camped there.

I’m ok with understanding Brailey will never be that guy that turns a game for us.. you literally could’ve put Berrell in there yesterday and the result would’ve been the same
