I'm all for teams sending in the retired old boys, especially if we do it

1) They don't fall under any salary cap
2) If they get injured, who cares
3) Great publicity, especially for teams that are desperately looking for a FOJ sponsor (I'm looking at you Titans)
4) When you send in an old favourite, the NRL tends to stop asking where are your top 5 players?
5) Who wouldn't love to see Peach or Cov tearing it up in our colours again?

There wouldnt be enough time in a game for Cov to get his legs moving

I think it would be a cool thing if each club HAD TO bring 1 retired player, that hasnt played in 5 years. That way you dont just get Beau Ryan come back for a swan song the year after he retires. I really hate that Fittlers intercept is currently being shown in tries of the year highlights because as far as im concerned it didnt come close. HOWEVER if ET wanted to go for a run it would be cool to see.

We could have ET, Peachey, Paul Green (that would be fun), Lance Thompson, Porter (haha)

I'd love to see the Peach go around with us in some sort of role @ the nines, he was one of my favourites if not my favourite shark of all time, I just want him to get a hair cut before he suits up again for us, that long hair in the pony he nows spruiks around in is not the greatest look.

If the retired players want to play why don't have a retirement 9's

Maybe raise money for a charity ?

Remember years back we had that Legends of Origin match when Blocker got dacked and Brett Kenny (was it him??) knocked on after celebrating an intercept but before he scored a try

Best Legends game was when Sparkles went berserk and belted someone ( was it Mal?). Think Young Mark might have been slightly " juiced" as he was Hammer at the time!

"Club legends who could line up for the Nines"

"Tigers - Matthew Rieck"

Matt Rieck. Tigers. Six Appearances. Club Legend.

By the end of the tournament he would have played almost the same amount of Nines games as he played NRL games for the Tigers.

And that counts as "Legend Status"!!!

He played 55 games for us.
Surely he wld play for the Sharks if anyone!

Honestly, who writes this dribble?

Me either. Then again it's already a circus so may as well turn it into a bigger one I suppose.

A dribbler named Dan Nichols in this case.

Is he the same guy as Sharky14 aka Gummy Shark aka Official Ben Hampton signing?... Possibly.

Dan Nichols is a shark fan, he generally is part of the CSSC, goes to all games etc aspiring sports writer etc

I'll be in Auckland the weekend before for a wedding. I asked my mate to put it back a week but he wouldn't. Some people are so selfish.

pussy whipped.

I wouldnt ever pay to go to the 9s, its not a tournament that interests me. I dont like the concept, but its rugby league played in a fast pace so ill still watch it all weekend. If nothing else it is a cool pre-season idea, shame its played in such heat and players COULD get injured.
