How many teams in the history of the Nines wins 2 games but doesn't advance to the semis?

We got knocked out by a calculator.

Yep that's true , Perhaps it can be inked in now .
A fully fit Barba deserves his chance after his efforts .

Good to see the bi-polar rollercoaster back in full swing in here.

Yas love a player one game, claim best thing since sliced bread almost. Then roast them very next game ha.

Is disappointing that they are out by 1 differential point. But ****, what can you do.

I don't recall anyone creaming over any players in the Nines dude and there wasn't much bagging outside of Paulo. Flanno is the one copping it for our last game and deservedly so
What can you do? Well not rest arguably our best player of the tourno in Chad in a critical game, coaching staff learning to count to 12 would be handy as well

"The Sharks didn't know they were out" haha **** me

FMD my previous post alluded to Flanno possbily not being aware of the mathematical situation in front of us but wow... The is Sharks in a nutshell, amateur hour as usual . How could not one of our coaching staff ask the question and do some quick analysis prior to the game to determine the risks to our progression. I agree 100% with you mate that although it is the Nines, it doesn't matter cause it is the incompetence shown and my concern of what that could do in an NRL season proper. Pathetic

I have to disagree with most people's assessment of Barba on this forum. Barba has proved himself in a touch footy tournament, and occasionally last year playing 20 minutes a game. So with an unrealistic amount of space, or tiring opposition he looks good. Those aren't the conditions most footy is played in. He hasn't played 80 good minutes of footy in a few years. I think he is a long way from deserving a chance.

Bit of confidence will do him good though. All-Stars soon - hopefully he can use something from this weekend and have a good game there and set himself up for some early form coming into the season

**** knows. I was waiting for us to play in the semis and it never happened. Get rid of four and against and play golden try for those on equal points

If the brains trust couldn't count to 12, I wonder how often we didn't even have 9 players on the field...
I'd rather go out in the group stage and get no injuries then lose a final in extra time lose a player (nu) and start the year with 4 straigh losses. 20 something days then the whips are cracking, this hasn't effected my hopes for the season, nor should it anyone else, for gods sake Titans made the top 4 and we know that ain't going to happen in season 16.

Two words - Ennis, Maloney. Things will look much better once the season proper starts.

I agree that there is no chance of him playing 80 minutes times 24 rounds. If he is judged the way Gordon was it isn't going to be pretty. Still I think he should start at 1 as we have cover on the field if/when required. I would call it a one in 50 shot of him being there come round 26. Injury, form or off field stuff will stop it happening.

In your head, rent free
my only concern for us is how no one knew we were mathematical chance of elimination

thought chad was brilliant for us, cleeland looks the goods as well. aggressive little prick and a top notch defender

thought jordan drew looked absolute mud, capewell looked ok

bird went well but was a liability in the raiders game

barba is easily our most dangerous, broken field runner

not much has changed in terms of squad selection but come round one flanno needs to find a way for barba, val and bird to be in the team

I think Barba starting on the bench or fullback are his only options. I think if we are going to use barba as a bench utility we should aim for 40 mins a game. The problem is, we take off a winger.....I would probably take off Feki and give him a short stint in the forwards if he is the guy coming off.

Agree, he has to be FB or nothing. I'm fairly confident that's where he'll play.

Barba has to be fullback. No questions. Shame Val won't get the first shot but we don't have many wingers after Feki and Holmes anyway. Next year is a different story, I can't see Holmes extending unless he gets a proper crack through rotation this year or starting next year.

That's literally all I was trying to say, but people didn't seem to read it a certain way and just run with it like that

Agree with pretty much all of this. I thought cleeland looked a little small but the **** never gave up and I love that attitude in players.

Chad and the hooker who's name I won't bother trying to spell anymore (Matt M) and barba were huge stand outs and some positives to take away.

Unfortunately it's just the same old story for flanno

To be completely honest, I am not a Barba fan and it is simply because I can't see him playing a full season of fullback...I cant even see him lasting a full game there. Very happy to be proven wrong.

There is no doubt Val is our best long term option.

Gagan, Beale Can play on the Wing. (we do have mitch brown if necessary).
If we put Bird in at Centre, its as simple as pushing Beale to the wing if necessary.

Why can't Barba play a full game? Pretty sure he's done it at some stage before in his career.
