Thank you.
But all jokes aside I am very concerned about this. I have to admit that the idea of 1 to 6 month bans sounds great compared to the idea of 2 year bans but something just isn't right. I hope I'm just being paranoid.

And my guess is the day after the bans are made public the next headlines will be about gordan/cockdoba and co.

I'm going to inhale a box of beer to celebrate the day this is finalised.

I don't think you're paranoid at all.

ASADA has proved to not be remotely professional in any of their activities & they must be getting desperate by now.

I would love to know what Flanagan's thoughts would be if this "truce" was offered, seeing he was advising the players to reject the initial 6 month ban. This will have a direct impact on his playing group for 2015.

If the players believe they are innocent as they have stated, they should not accept the offered terms.

I think not having our players accept bans was more about protecting the club a a whole and it's liability as opposed to individual players so I expect the club to hold this stance

If it was just 6 month bans to players and no flow on impacts to the club or it's brand (which is not really possible) it would seem reasonable to accept them. Ofcourse if players are genuinely 100% innocent I would not expect them to tarnish their name and possibly their career to cop a band just for the sake of moving on

They dropped the trafficking charge. It has been so long I've forgotten the names of the drugs, but he stands accused of taking far more than cjc-whatever it was that he confessed to at the time. I found Earl's interview to be compelling and very convincing. However, I have a bad feeling he may have only told the partial truth and this has caught up with him. I could be talking out my arse though and happy to be corrected.
I posted this the other day. He is one hell of a liar if he is guilty of all that outlined in the article.

You said a good article. Thats up there with a bec wilson special. He quoted jim morrison for ****s sake.
The media are still writing about the sharks like they just clear cut took banned substances. Its obviously more complex and no lazy **** with a type writer is going to solve the case

So it's possible our entire off season training is done without our captain or vice captain? Not great at all. Could have a silver lining in that other leaders emerge in the playing group I guess.

Not ideal, but I guess it could be far worse.

-It's summer sport season for Gal anyway.

-Wade seems like the kind of guy that would at least keep his training up while away, unlike others that would surely just go off the rails.

Probably not much difference to if they were having surgery or something.

I'm sure the introduction of someone like Michael Ennis might help with the leadership bubble if off-season bans occur, he is known for being a good trainer and was a big part of the Bulldogs turn-around under Hasler.

At the end of the day, it'll be the coaches job to make sure the blokes put in during the off-season. Say what you want about Flanno, but he doesn't particularly seem a soft-ass about off-season fitness.

The interesting article was from Rebecca Wilson (yeah I know). I was unaware of this, but John Coates is the head of the CAS and from the quotes it appears neither he nor WADA are going to have any of time for the deals being thrown around between ASADA and the AFL or NRL.

It is the CAS that will have the final say in all this, on the one hundredth anniversary of the Sharks in the NRL.

It has been said a few times, but I still can't get my head around why the likes of Manly have gotten out of all of this. Their program with that bloke ran a lot longer than ours did and we are the only ones being pinged for it. Has always seemed odd.

I don't hate Flanno, but I am extremely disappointed that the Head Coach of MY club has taken absolutely zero responsibility and blamed "the system" rather than himself as the HEAD of Football.

He deserves ALL of the criticism he has received to this point.

I would be far more forgiving if he said "I didn't know what was happening, but as the Head of the Football Department, I take responsibility". My fear is that he will still carry a very large chip on his shoulder when he returns to the Club.

Re-appointing him for a further 3 years was a dreadful decision.
