If also argue that "3 out of 4" is ok as long as the missing guy is 6 or 1. You are not winning the comp with an average 9 or 7 (unless it's 2006 - that year doesn't count. Guys playing weird positions all over the field and Shane Perry in 7. Still can't believe they won).

I think with Nu/Cherrington and the Braileys, we're better off putting our money elsewhere. We have a strong 1,6,7, and two very creative edge forwards in the side, both with a kicking game, not to mention our 5/8 playing centre. We're going to miss Ennis hugely, but making up for that lost contribution will be the job of the whole team next year. The new 9 won't be able to do it no matter who they, such has been the impact of Ennis in this side.

My point is replacing Ennis next year can't be done IMO, so let's not look to Farah to achieve that.

We do have a strong 1, 6 & 7 but their jobs are all made a lot harder without a good #9 controlling that all important ruck and getting the most out of our pretty lightweight pack. I really think our window closes when Ennis goes and if we're to have a tilt in 2017 we need experience to step straight in such a crucial position and along we go. There is no room for hooker rotation anymore. 3 best side got the 3 best hookers - challenge ANYONE to argue that.

Towing the Flanno line there

I think a lot hinges on our result this year. If we win I think we can all abide a building year or two int the 9 by Nu and others. If we don't win everyone wil be resetting for a premiership and anything but signing an 80m dominant 9 will be considered apathetic

Very true. After admitting to wanting Farrah I did say my preferred option was we win it this year and then I don't really give a toss. But thats a fans perspective. If we win the comp no one at the Club will be putting their feet up not concerning themself with next year. So win or lose you're down a strong, experienced #9. If one is available, get him. No way you ever chose 1 player's development over a fair dinkum tilt. Win it or not you pick whats best for next year because a good #9 keeps the window open and after Lewy, Gal etc. are gone in 2018 and we lose guys because their value increased after winning a Premiership, then we blood guys and build again.

Yeah he seems like a germ at Tigers but I'd be impressed if Farrah managed to come in and infect our side like he did at Tigers. He was a stalwart and legend over there, he'd be nobody at Cronulla and he won't have the influence - or need to influence anything - and hopefully just play good footy. On the off chance he did ark up I reckon he'd be put in his place pretty quick by the blokes who do run that footy side.

I'd agree with that too, but buying that player ready made worked once, I doubt it works again. Hookers seem to be best over 25, but Cam Smith and Issac Luke were awesome in their early 20's, and Friend won a Comp at 23. Cherrington is 23 next year. Farah is not necessarily the answer.

Oh I'm not advocating Farah - don't put me in that basket. I'm just saying that 9 is an important position. Moreso than many realise. For all we know Nu and Cherrington could be an absolutely lethal combination, but they don't have any runs on the board so we don't know.

I don't think like equally splitting the hooker role works very well, it is such an important position that I think the team needs a main one, even if there's a replacement to fill 15-20 mins on the bench. If Nu isn't ready to be a 60 minute starting hooker, I think we need to recruit one. I doubt we recruited Cherrington to be that guy, he's more a NSW Cup player at the moment.

Is Jake Granville a superstar? Not really. The cows won the Comp with him last year. It all comes down to strength across the spine, and 3 out of 4 will do generally.

Isn't he? I don't see Cowboys winning the comp without him. Same as I don't see them winning it without Thurston who is undoubtedly a "super star".

He fits very well for them. They've got their brainstrust and organiser at halfback. They've got seasoned, representative front-rowers who know their job and do it well. Granville fits perfect to get sets rolling with his speed out of dummyhalf.

This makes no sense, mate.

It worked once, best not try it again?

Hookers seem best over 25 but because arguably the best ever and one other bloke were good early (one who has dropped off and wasn't apart of his team's GF win) and another guy won a comp at 23 is reason enough to bank on another 23yr old?

None of that relates whatsoever to Farrah.

I was initially dead against Farah but signing him for one year is a no brainer really. Keeps our window open while hopefully Brailey continues his development playing in the reggies against men.

Probably comes down to what souths are offering compared to us. Stating the obvious but tigers would be looking to pay as little as possible and we all know flanno loves a bargain

Kostjaysn going to newcastle

That's been rumoured for a while.

Check out his Wikipedia page. Someone is having some fun.

Is joining the Newcastle Knights in 2017, along with Ben Hunt, Tony Williams and Nick Kyrgios. He inspirationally leads the Newcastle Knights from a wooden spoon in season 2016 to the club's third premiership in season 2017.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rory_Kostjasyn

God it'd feel weird having Farah here..

But I'm sure after a game or two we'd all be massive fans of the bloke. He is loved by Tiges fans for a reason.

But in the same breath, no. I'd rather Nu Brown come into the side and rebuild from there-I love the kid.

After we win the premiership this year I won't care about the next decade anyway.

I felt the same when we signed Ennis. Hated the bloke immensely before he pulled on our jersey.

I absolutely hate Farah, he is probably my most hated player at the moment.

With that being said at the right price he would be a fantastic signing for us.

We have got a premiership window open at the moment & to keep that open we will need an experienced hooker. Farah would have to adjust his play style to be a success with us IMO as he does try to do most of the play making himself which was the criticism for Ennis at the start of the year.

I personally think a no nonsense hard working hooker who isn't overly flash is about ideal for us to replace Ennis with.

I hated him but I knew I'd love him at the Sharks (it was the fact he did what he did for another side). Farah, I don't know if I could ever like.

I would much rather Seggy. The fact that we have some young guys coming through isn't a reason to not sign a guy like Seggy, plenty of really good NYC players haven't kicked on to be superstars in firsts (Lichha, Mills, KOD, et al).

As for Farrah, I don't like him, but he wasn't playing well this year when he was in firsts. Why would he now?

Toxic environment at the club has a lot to do with it. Remember everyone called us crazy letting go of Lichaa to sign Ennis.
