My mate is involved in the sg ball and Harold matts at penrith. He said parramatta were standout the best and the fact the sharks beat them is a testament to this kid. Apparently he was great in the finals. Good luck to him!

glad we signed ricky for 3 years then...

This honestly disappoints me, we had a gun centre coming through and it seems we all but blocked his pathway.

I guess it's hard to know and hopefully they did all they could to keep him. Any idea how long the contract is?

If we have blocked his pathway what have the storm done, they have better centres than us and still have to find a spot for Munster when slater comes back...

the kid is ****ing 17

when rickys contract finished he would be 20

we didnt block his pathway at all

the last 17 year old kid to make his debut was jordan rankin

i will give you $5 from 2010's wallet if you can tell me what he is doing without using google.

there is nothing to say he will be NRL ready by the time he is 20.

It's all part of Flanno's plan, send him down to the Storm to learn his trade from a good attacking coach, then when he's 20 and off contract bring him back to the Sharks.

I feel a 3 year deal to Ricky sent the message of "you can work your way in if you're good enough" rather than "youre in our plans".
That's not always a bad thing as a good work ethic is crucial, but what if he has the goods?

He seems to have stepped up straight to the 20s, so who knows what a year will bring.
Also no, I can't tell you what Jordan rankin is doing now, but I can tell you what wade graham is doing and he debuted at 17.

Must admit I've never seen him play. What makes him such a good prospect?

I'm not going to pretend to be an expert either, from what I've seen he's strong and runs good lines, sets up his winger amazingly too. When more than half the nrl clubs are chasing him that speaks volumes though.

You made the point, If he's good enough he takes a spot, that's the way it works. He has to do the same at the storm

Good news bird and Holmes want to stay at sharks (but info from sportal )

http://www.sportal.com.au/league/nr...e-holmes-jack-bird/1iqzf8ence7a81m1o3ojjp2lf4

Pretty sure those years are off ? Holmes is here till the end of 2017 and Bird 2016 I thought ?

Irrespective it's great that we'll look to extend them for longer. Great talents and are in key positions and will only get better. They seem to be best mates off the field so even more of an incentive to stay.

It's disappointing we lost Scott, and would have been nice to see him progress here but we've got alot of other talented players coming through we can focus our attention on now.
