Parcell poised to leave Brisbane for Manly
Daily Telegraph
– July 28, 2015Brisbane Broncos, Manly Sea Eagles, Matt Parcell, News

Matt Parcell

Boom Broncos rookie Matt Parcell was earning only $500 a win at Ipswich last year but is poised to sign a deal with Manly worth several hundred thousand dollars.

Manly are in pole position to sign the dynamic hooker in a rich multi-year deal as Brisbane coach Wayne Bennett revealed he didn’t want to hold the 22-year-old back.

Brisbane will lose Parcell because they can’t match the lucrative deals and greater playing time rival clubs are offering.

The Gold Coast Titans and Cronulla Sharks have also chased Parcell but it is understood Manly have all but won the race.

Strange signing for Manly if true, they have signed Api Korisau for next year and have Jayden Hodges on their books, not sure if he is off contract though

OTHER FORUM : Q and A

Q : Anything brewing?

A : Couple of depth signings are secured, don't know when the will be announced.

Looking for prop depth.

Looking at a few good forwards.

Looking at a rep back.

Losing Heighington to the ESL.

Possibly Tupou as well.

Can't see any benefit in looking at 'rep' backs- With Barba, Holmes, Gagan, Leutele, Bird, Beale, Feki, Brown etc who are we going to kick out? Beale is the obvious choice but I can't see that happening.

Would depend who it is. I like Beale but there are better centres around.

Worst that can happen is that you've got a good player trotting round in reserve grade.

Beale needs to stay. I am pretty sure having Maloney next year will only benefit Beale, yeah sure Beale is getting some early ball this year but those are from a below par halfback and a makeshift five-eighth. When we actually have designated and quality halves then I'll judge Beale's performance. Just think about it, we have a hooker and a centre playing in our halves.
