Sandow. We need a 7 with a kicking game not another fullback turned 6
While I'm not a huge fan of the idea of signing Sandow this is the major point as to why you can't rule him out. Sandow over Norman for sure.

Sandow has the better kicking game if you are measuring this on the length of his kick metres, possible 40/20's, drop goals etc. but if you are looking at the whole package of Sandow vs. Norman I prefer Norman, Parra's game plan is for Norman & Paulo to do the majority of the organizing with Sandow still doing a bit of organizing but is given a free reign to play what's in front of him.

The way our squad is at the moment & what we need to go to another level Norman offers more, I know he's another fullback in our squad but he's also a organizer & more of a level headed organizer imo than Sandow.

I'm leaning this way too. We probably have enough spark with Barba, Val and Bird. In saying that I'd be happy with Sandow but I'd probably take Norman first.

Can we get Sandow and Townsend?

They would make a fairly good pairing IMO.

Sandow as half and Townsend as 5/8th.

Play Bird as a Centre.

That combo might just work actually, I like it.

Chad could be Sandow's calming influence.

I do think that Gal would give Sandow a thump at some stage though - and possibly on the field.

What's everyone's thoughts for half recruitment now then?

Carney and Kelly seem like no chance of ever returning.
Hopkinson and Maloney would take massive overs but may stay with their clubs anyway.

Leaves Sandow really as the only half available with experience.
Or if we take a punt with a junior/less experienced half we have the likes of Townsend, Cornish, elgey or kodi nikorima.
Not a whole lot of options left but still have DCE money, so not sure if we are a chance of snaring two.
Kodi and Jayden Nikorima would be great pickups .

I still don't see why Sandow would leave Parra or why Parra would want him to leave. He's a matchwinner and will suit Foran perfectly. They'll either release Norman back to the GC or play him at the back.

I am keen on signing two halves though. Why not? The money is there. Say, Elgey and Townsend. It improves your chances of finding a stable 7.

I totally agree. There is no way we get Sandow or another big name IMO, so signing Chad plus another younger prospect makes sense. And we actually need a 6 and 7 at the mo, unless Bird keeps playing the way he does in which case he can have the 6.

Agree with this. We have a lot of fullbacks and locks. Why not have two actual halves on the roster?

Elgey and Townsend in the same team? I don't know but I think equals a defensive liability on both sides of our defense.
