Harsh wrapped he played siiht on Sunday, prior to that he has been great in my opinion... Starting to get real nervous now the hate on my man sir robbo is going to escalate as the pool of halfbacks next season gets more and more shallow, he could we'll be the victim of abuse because of the club not being able to secure a upgrade with a fistful of cash...

Yeah I know. For some reason it felt like a preview as to how **** he can be. I could almost visualise him in a cronulla shirt playing like that. It felt Tim Smith-like.

Stoked with the result anyway

if we win some more games and throw overs, I'm sure we can secure someone of note

overs is ok providing we stop investing so much coin into our backrow moving forward

I'm pretty confident someone will be sacked for ****ting in a casino lobby before round 1 next year. We'll get some talented bad boy.

Massively turned off by Maloney after his game on the weekend. I don't usually judge a player on one game, but jeez he was ordinary. Imagine throwing him in to our structure like that...

Players do have their ups and downs of course, but he looked like someone who already plays for us on the weekend.

Yeah that's probably why I started envisaging him playing for us and copping all of the hate over the next couple of seasons haha

how is that typical? We have signed Barba & Carney just in recent years, both high profile halves.

Yes we need a 7 but no means are out of the race when it has just begun

Yeah maybe I'm being a bit negative, just very frustrated I guess. Lots of talent floating around in the halves and I just have a feeling we're going to miss out on all of them.

Out of all the candidates floating around only DCE was worth breaking the bank for. Looking at pure number 7's none are a massive upgrade on Robson other than kicking. There is not a player on the market (Excluding Carney) who turns us into a premiership force just by their coming here.

Think we will be competitive with the likes of holmes, bird, graham,nu,fifita x2 as the core group make the finals and who knows what can happen plus add in the youth we have coming through, maybe a better coach (or a brain transplant for ours) and the future could be bright.

It's been rumoured that Ricky got Sezer for $500k a year.
Totally worth it and I'm a bit gutted we missed out.

We'll probably sign Carney back with overs.
Which is good, however the overs will be killer

If Ricky got Sezer for 500k he got him cheap IMO.

Maloney was Robbo's bit$h on the weekend. Robbo will make all his opposite 7's look average and we will be asking for an upgrade for him before long. The grass is always greener somewhere else?

Might be 500K in the cap..... which is all that really matters... who cares how many third party deals you can get.

Cap space is the only real limitation.

Yes, not all clubs can go to the same amount 3rd party bla bla bla, but cap space is all we really care about right?

3rd party included on cap mate.
They wouldn't allow 300k on 3rd party

Third Party Agreements

Third party agreements are payments made by companies directly to players. There is no restriction on the amount a player can earn through third party agreements where he is being paid for his own intellectual property, without the need to employ club logos or names and where the company involved is neither a club sponsor nor are they acting on behalf of a club to secure the player’s services. An example of this is a player promoting a brand or product, for example, Billy Slater and Australian Bananas.

Many players do have third party agreements that are outside the salary cap. Individual players have registered third party agreements totalling in excess of $7.5 million in 2011.

All third party agreements must be registered and approved beforehand. This is to ensure that they do not become a way for clubs or players to use sponsors or third parties to undermine the salary cap. There are provisions for club sponsors to enter into agreements with elite players and for details see the Marquee Player Allowance section.
