I think, given the NRL's history of cover-ups, scandals, and poor management, that it's not unreasonable to suspect something untoward in this arrangement should DCE go to the GC. As Gow said, there would have to be some under-the-table **** involved.

The GC was making a play for DCE before the NRL was forced to step in and take ownership. All I see they've done is provide assurances the Titans will be around for the foreseeable future.

You don't see them legally or illegally (as far as the rules of the cap go) bending the rules in some way shape or form to keep interest in the Titans as a club? It's obvious they don't want to lose the side up there (even if that's exactly what happened.

If this was us or at george there'd be serious calls for us to be kicked out) and the only way the NRL can keep interest is to bump on DCEs price to ensure the side remains competitive and fans stay interested.

Daly was big on having the chance to win competitions. If he ends up at the Gold Coast he is at the club least likely to make the semis let alone win a gf.

I dont have anything. That's the point. We will never see it

Look... We had the best offer money wise. We had the best tour regardless of what you are now hearing. Going to the coast is ridiculous given recent goings on up there. So the outcome can only be cronulla or manly.

Let's see what happens.

I thought Flanno himself said our offer wasn't the biggest and it was pretty well rumoured the Titans were offering more money than us, but we were offering more than Manly.

Recent goings on being the drugs, which was players acting on their own. One could argue thats better than what happened here. Other than no player gives a toss who owns the Club, infact the Titans are in safer hands now than with Searle and co.

I've heard nothing official since Wednesday night I think when DCE's camp put out a statement saying he's done touring Clubs and will now go back to Manly before weighing up all his options with a view to making a decision sooner rather than later. Other than that its all hysterics and assumptions since then.

All I want is a fair competition.

I don't feel like we have one. This stems from advertisement, to team favourites, to broadcasting issues, to cover ups and now to this DCE ****.

I'm over it.

My final post on it cos it's just ****ting me....

I'm going to let it play out but if he announces the titans then it has played out with NRL input. No doubt about it.

I can see how it would help if the Titans secured a big name half like DCE, but I don't see the NRL pulling any dodgy doings to get him, if for no other reason than because if it come out it would be terrible and they're not very good at hiding things.

Tell me the difference between 'calls for us to be kicked out' and 'serious calls for us to be kicked out'. People have been calling for our head for yonks mate and obviously none have been serious enough. Just cause twitter or a journo says, and the bloke at the pub agrees doesn't mean squat.

You think if everything that's happened to the Titans happened to us right now that we would have been taken over by the NRL and all of a sudden been back in the race for the most in demand player in the space of like 2 days?

It just stinks.

We should call them on it but who?

If flanno or keogh or Gorman come out and say it we will be fined or have serious ramifications.

I hate buying into conspiracies but where there's smoke there's Fire and it stinks of the NRLs unfairly lit smoke.
I think another issue might be the suspended fine we already have hanging over us

Don't confuse the drugs stuff with the NRL taking ownership of the Titans. The Titans were heading this way without the drugs stuff.

As I pointed out the other day, I do think if we became insolvent they would prop us up and they'd do so for any team that found itself in that position.

Our ASADA circus was much, much worse than the Titans drug scandal if you can call it that. Had ASADA been in and out in 2 days we'd have been back to business as usual.

I still don't think he will stay at WoManly, so just us and GC.I don't believe the hype,as a reprentative quality player we are a better bet for a Premiership than GC, so i still think he will come to us.Also as someone said, the NRL can't favour stakeholders surely? Will logic prevail but?

What don't we know, Gow? What bit of evidence do you have that'll convince any rational person the NRL are not only breaking the salary cap, but they're doing it to **** with us in particular?

I will say Cap that the NRL allowed the drag queens to bust the cap to get Benji over us. I wouldn't put anything past them after that.
