Yup, Would only take Kearney with complete confidence he can slot in at Half or 5/8, otherwise hes a class fullback that we just dont need. I mean lets be Honest he doesnt have to have a crazy kicking game to be an improvement on Robson. But then again i dont think he has the experience the play in the halves, nor the leadership.

I would be holding out for 2015 and chasing:

* Ben Hunt
* Aiden Sezer - This is my preference, young, experienced already, absolute weapon of a kicking game and great conversion kicker. Big kid too and can defend and run the ball.
* Adam Reynolds - Still a massive improvement, and couldbe the change of scenery to kick start himself again.

No idea how Kearney has been going in the old dart, but I don't see him as a halfback from what I remember of his time here.

The stats say he is not setting the world on fire but I have not watched him play.

yep, the nrl want the nsw cup to be represented by all teams next year

i dont think we will have depth issues, we have enough players to cover it, the nswcup team just wont be as strong

Hey speaking of which does anybody know if the Cronulla/Melbourne alliance will continue into next season? I think it's run it's course.

As for Kearney, I was proud of this bloke. He was not good enough for Souths during their extremely **** run. Comes here and we turn him into one of the top 5 fullbacks of the time. A back which we successfully developed. Nice bloke as well. Wouldn't mind seeing him return, but where would he play, bench utility maybe? 5/8th if we miss Hampton?

Had it in my mind that we would be linking with Wyong? Could be well off the mark though?

I'd like to see more regional teams in the NSW cup. You'd think areas like Port Mac, Bathurst, Dubbo etc could have a team. It would provide an alternative pathway to professional football for guys from those areas. It could also potentially gain a pretty good grass roots following.

I think reserve grade will be limited to the 16 nrl sides.

Kearney's nickname was chalk wasn't it? Injured a lot, surprised he's still playing. He supports off loading forwards better than anyone currently at the club.

If he wants to come home I'd definately sign him. Without an obvious star player in 1, 6 or 7, and that would include Hampton if we get him and the untested Holmes, competition for spots and options for injuries or poor form are a must. Why not have different combinations to try now we don't have a lot of money tied up with I've guy?

Would you really want to recruit a 31 year old to take a spot from Holmes or Brown? Kearney isn't a halfback either.

Engadine, gods country.
all NRL sides will have 3 grades next year.

1st grade
reserve grade
NYC

there will be a QLD cup and NSW cup as it stands now without players from nrl clubs playing in the respective comps. teams will have some sort of affiliations as far as im aware with teams from both competitions.

I'd take him for the Holdsworth role, but if we sign him you just know he'll be put in the first team.

In saying that, I haven't seen him play since he left.

He'd be great depth but you're right, he'd be in the team somewhere. If we didn't have an 80 minute hooker he'd be good off the bench. Like you though I haven't seen him since he left, so I'm basing all of that on his form with us years ago.
