I'm still not sold on Burton in the halves honestly, as soon as teams jam and take Addo-Carr away from him as an option he falls to pieces.
Also good as that bomb is, it's the only kick he's got.
He's 22 years old, playing behind a pack that has been smashed most of the year and in a team where he is pretty much the sole point of attack. He was cool as a cucumber in the origin arena too. I think he will be something pretty special in two years, especially if he has a good side around him.

Can only see Burton staying at the Dogs now Ciraldo is going there but no harm in having a crack. Be surprised if he's even available come Nov 1
Yep, our recruiting officer would be failing in their duty if they weren't throwing low ball offers at elite players on a consistent basis.

Never know when one will stick and you get yourself a bargain.

He was good in origin... playing centre where he was forced to run not play-make.

Burton is a footballer, no question, personally though I still think his best position would be fullback and nothing I've seen this year from him has changed my opinion.

Playing at centre is completely different to playing in the halves. Shouldn’t even be legal to make that argument

Yeah both Moylan and Dykes would still be on contract for a year. You tell Moylan you wont be extending him and let him negotiate elsewhere and move early if he can get a deal. Another whole year is a long time for Dykes to develop and at which point he'll either be beating down the door and ready to take the fullback jersey or you'll be glad you signed Burton.
Yep agree Moylan can be cover, or look to find another opportunity. Dykes you look at moving him to fullback as good chance not retaining Kennedy would be a big factor in affording Burton

Pefect, him Hynes and Dykes can all be fullback but one is also 6 and one is also 7

All fullbacks and locks is the way to go

Just do what the Dogs do and make a bunch of verbal agreements with a stack of off contract players and worry about who and how you fit them in under the salary cap later

Oops sorry Munsto seems we don't have that spare $1.4m we promised you but now that all your other options have dried up guess you are off to the Titans and your old club is even more ****ed now lols to be you

Would love to see a good old fashioned lock-off

I'm talking about the way he handled the increased pressure. It's obviously not that easy given his former centre partner in Crichton practically shat the bed.

He has showed some periods of brilliant eyes up footy this year and has achieved a lot in two years of grade. He has the best natural boot in the game by a long way although he needs to add more strings to his bow. I think playing him at fullback would take a lot away from him. With a good pack and a competent spine around him I think he'll be a fantastic 6.

Don't be dense. Playing origin is a lot different to playing first grade in any position. Being able to handle the pressure is a positive attribute. That's all I was saying.

If I'm the Panthers, I offer unders for Burton to come back and play 5/8.

Sorry mate but you can't claim a bloke with literally one kick in his arsenal has the best natural boot in the comp that is ridiculous, most powerful? Sure.

Is he so much better than Luai it's worth the catastrophe that could end in?

Luai very popular with a lot of the playing group. Him leaving would be one thing but being shoved out? Could cause a lot of disharmony.

That's definitely what I mean by natural, sorry I could have been more specific. The guy sends it so far with the most effortless action. I have no doubt he can learn to add more to his arsenal.

I'd give him 3 at least. His bombs are obvious, but his long kicking is awesome too. As are his short drop outs.

Don't worry. Payton will have a whinge about the salary cap and the NRL will give them an exemption.
Don’t joke. Will Probably happen.

“I didn’t sign JT on a mill pa. It’s not my fault. I should be given some exemptions to get the team I want”! Ka pooee

How about the entire Kangaroos squad?

Even better ;)

Not really expecting Panthers to move Luai on for him, but if anyone can get him for unders, it'll be the Panthers.

His manager won’t let him sign before November 1st. There’s rumours a couple of clubs out there are going to offer close to a mil a year. His manager wants all offers on the table for him.

Guess it's only a tick over two months away so not that long to wait. I'm sure Dogs will be nervous, I do wonder how much they can afford to throw at him with all their recent signings.
