Dragons looking to sign Reece Robson from the Cowboys after letting him go years ago when he wanted to stay.
Really are a joke of a club

God that website is so cluttered full of terrible pop ups and advertising now. Dragons absolutely should be going for him though. So should Canberra, Warriors, Manly and anyone else without a decent 9. Better to admit your mistakes and try and rectify them.

They’ll get him too I reckon. He never wanted to leave St George. Got a mate who knows him and apparently he’s always wanted to return.

Wonder how the Cowboys cap is looking. They've got Chad on big money. Holmes on fullback money playing in the centres. Lolo on millions.

Might be hard to keep Drinkwater and Robson, plus the other emerging players with so many on big money.

Losing Morgan helped them a lot.

Don't worry. Payton will have a whinge about the salary cap and the NRL will give them an exemption.

Yeah Nanai signing just a one year extension will hurt them. They'll be kicking themselves for not getting a multi year deal done earlier as his value is increasing by the game. Very well played by his manager though.

Also I’ve been told we will have an offer ready to go come November 1st for Burton. Will be a 3 year deal at around 750k a season. Won’t be the highest offer he will get but hopefully Fitz can weave his magic.
Honestly don't think there is another half I want here more than Burton. The better players would ruin the cap balance and are older. A Burton/Hynes combo could easily grow into the best halves pairing in the comp within a few years. Get it done.

I'd like him too but what about Moylan/Dykes? That would be both their second years of their new contracts, is that right? Or would we be looking at Dykes in the number 1 jersey?

I love Trindall, but Burton's kicking ability on its own is a must have. He can launch a kick from his own 25 to the opponents goal line and recover from a set where his team has been bashed in defence.

I'm still not sold on Burton in the halves honestly, as soon as teams jam and take Addo-Carr away from him as an option he falls to pieces.
Also good as that bomb is, it's the only kick he's got.

Yeah both Moylan and Dykes would still be on contract for a year. You tell Moylan you wont be extending him and let him negotiate elsewhere and move early if he can get a deal. Another whole year is a long time for Dykes to develop and at which point he'll either be beating down the door and ready to take the fullback jersey or you'll be glad you signed Burton.
