Gaining traction again is it?

Telegraph reporting Roosters have made an offer worth about $300k

Im all for him now, he probably makes a better 14 than Tracey because of the fact he can play big minutes in the forwards off the bench too rather than just a few minutes as a utility late in the game, and covers more positions. Plus with the amount of injuries these days he probably finds himself in our starting 13 most weeks and would probably be close to being our best second string lock, half, hooker, fullback and centre to what we currently have on the books.

Can play 1,6,7,9,13…..hes very valuable to a team as a mr fix it. Id have him in an instant

Either Watson OR nab another QUALITY Centre with Tracey off the bench

Hypothetically, in the event Watson does come here, where do you guys play him? Who’s spot does he take?

He becomes our first choice 14, with Tracey being converted to either a centre or a winger (/2nd choice 14).
Can rotate into 13 if Cam moves to hooker or just to give Cam a spell (he is a machine though and won't need many), otherwise if no injuries in a game he can give edge or prop a quick rest depending on who else is on our bench but provides massive coverage for injury.
If our halves are Hynes and Moylan he will compete with Trindall for a spot for all the games Moylan misses.

You could perhaps even start 9. McInnes 13. Watson 14. Brailey and rotate Brailey in after 20-30. This maybe would be a horses for courses sort of deal rather than a strict plan A.

Tracey Centre now that Chambers looks gone ..

Yeah Im leaning towards this as well. I’d still rather Brailey start at 9 and Cam start at 13. You can bring Watson into the game for one of them during the first half and he can play lock while the other plays 9.

As long as he’s not being signed to play halfback, just don’t think he has the quality to be a regular 7.

Please stop saying Moylan at 7. I know it’s starting to look like it’ll happen alarmingly, but it still depresses me whenever someone says it.

Have we put out their and suitably ridiculed the idea of Brailey at 6? He's got the smarts, speed and a kicking game, and let's face it, may never have the size to be a career 80 min hooker. That's opens up hooker for Cam

Personally I'd put Hynes in the 7 in that pairing

They’re both 6’s in my view, I know it doesn’t matter nowadays though, the differences between the two spots are getting less and less relevant. I’m still praying to the baby Jebus that we sign a halfback with a good controlled kicking game, but my hope is waning. I just feel like we’d be doing Hynes a disservice if we don’t.

I thought Watson wanted to leave for a starting spot?

Oh yeah I forgot about that. I hope we’re not promising him a spot in the 13. I don’t think Brailey should be benched.

I'm envisaging roughly playing a left and right half with McInnes doing a lot of link work (or sometimes Blayke if Cam jumps into hooker).

ie a lot of line ups like Hynes on short side, Brailey/McInnes at hooker, then the other one of them as a link on longside out to Moylan.

Would really like Moylan to start doing some kicking though...

I know you’ve tried to temper my concerns somewhat in the past with this idea, but it just doesn’t sit well with me that we don’t have a strong kicking game in the halves.

Connor Watson's onfield attitude reminds me a bit of Greg Bird. Tough, aggressive and competitive.

Yeah I'm in the same boat, it's a concern at this stage.
