Losing Seggy, the guy no other club wanted, will be a "hammer blow" to us.

The other article had us ****ed losing B Brails because we re-signed Seggy. I guess Brent Reid will now have to back us to keep B Brails as the bloke blocking his path is no longer there. Won't hold my breath on that one.

Flanno should register as a player agent and then work out the deal for us. We'd end up having to sign another player to fulfill our minimum cap requirements.

Aren't we required to have 29 on our roster by now though? Wouldn't shedding one on minimum wage require filling the spot with another leaving the same problem.

Unless in these circumstances we can run with 28?

I hate the idea of salary cap penalties, fining the club is enough. It is one thing to fine the club, but having to cut a player because of it is a borderline player welfare issue.

Unlikely, Seggy and Ava have anything to do with his fiasco, but now might have to be told to look elsewhere. Seggy, especially, is fighting for his career - it would be a shame for him to lose it all, just because the club he was with at the time ****ed up

Really? How does a fine punish the rich clubs? No deterrent there.

We’re probably not even losing him. Read somewhere he’ll be signing with the Jets until we can fit him in.

Barry Russell was my favourite 7. Tough, elusive and fast.

Never seen a half make so many line breaks from the base of a scrum. He was electric over twenty metres. Preston was more entertaining, but not as tough, so they tie for my favourite sharks halves.

in terms of players we could potentially release and their destinations:

feki - bulldogs and canberra are keen

ava - bulldogs, wests and leds

chad - canberra & brisbane - brisbane only offering $400k of salary

ava is obviously the one i want to go the most as it is the position we have the most and best depth in, but **** me getting rid of chad and having a pathway for KFJ and Trindall is exciting

Don't want to lose either of those two .
At some stage Chad's gunna get moved on to create more cap space .
Maybe after this year might be better in case Flanno went down .
We'd be a bit thin mounting a semi's campain

Yeah we need Chad too much this year. Ava is the ultimate as we are a bit thin on the wings too but I'd rather Feki go than Chad.

Brisbane desperately need a half though so makes sense, how long would we have to top his salary off for, this year and another?

I don't think we can make Chad go though, especially to another state at short notice. He seems happy at the Sharks and looking to solidify his position as the starting halfback so don't see him agreeing to a release.

he's not the player to release right now for us anyway, give him the season with SJ and see what develops with Kyle
