Do we have one or two spots left in our top 30?
I think if we have 2 spots then we might consider Seggy but that would mean carrying 3 hookers in our top 30.
I definitely wouldn’t want us to re-sign him if we only have the one spot or if he wants more than $300k.

Low ball contract with the understanding we wont stand in his way for an early release if he gets an extended deal elsewhere. Also on the proviso we havent copped hooker injuries.

I can’t see anyone wanting jayden. Says a lot.

With the type of team we have... it sucks that our only real weak link is at No.9, could change so much if it wasn’t.

Really important position.. hopefully this season one of the brothers nails it

I know it's only a rumour but if Parra have offered Blayke a contract then we need to make a decision.

If we have faith in Blayke then let Seggy go.

Btw I'm astonished Seggy is still without a club.

Just because he's on the books doesn't mean he needs to play. He could be 3rd string hooker, the guy has no contract and he would be the best 29th squad choice in the comp.

We give him a chance to tear it up for newtown in the hope of landing first grade elsewhere. In return we get depth in a key position.

I don't see why we can't have him on the books and show Blayke he is the future.

Need to suss out out salary cap situation before offering Seg anything. Does deserve a contract somewhere though, even if he can't get the 300k or whatever he wants

We did let Seggy go - he was not offered a contract for this year.

I guess he is hoping we can find a spot for him because he could not come to terms anywhere else.

Our previous coach didn’t see a need to retain him and was happy to let him go.
Our new coach may have a different view and is willing to offer him a contract (discounted hopefully) and if we have space under our salary cap. I just hope that JMos isn’t considering him to just fill our top 30.

What has he exactly done wrong except maybe to be overpriced i suspect. In my opinion he was left on the bench too long in many games that were slipping away.At market value we should look closely at a proven FGder.

Agree, his numbers were decent with his limited time last year. And we bent over backwards in 17 to get him here. No secret either that flanno was mates with Brailey's Dad. Given our current play makers , we would potentially be scoring tries in from our own 20.

Seggy's also a bit off the cuff which didn't always suit the structured style Flanno seemed to want.

Not sure what JMo's preference is for attacking style - but with the NRL going bananas and directing the refs to implement a 'free flowing game', Seggy could be a big asset.

Seggy won us a few games we should have lost due to stupid things Chad did.

Overpriced? I'd say not.

He should have been given more minutes if anything.

Can't remember, early on in the year.

Early in the year? We lost 4 of our first 6 games. The only two we won were versus Parra when Chad scored all the points, and the 1-try penalty-a-thon v Melbourne.
