Moylan has the bigger upside and is much younger. Very curious why he fell out of favor at Penrith to the extent that Gus left him out. Talent like Moylan is hard to find. Heard that he is a nice guy but an extreme loner and not into relationships.

Yep. People are definitely viewing Maloney with rose coloured glasses based on recent form. And 12 months is a lot, we're not talking a bad month.

Agree. For 2016, ill forever respect him. His penalties continually put us under pressure and at the other end he wasnt delivering the goods regularly either (2017). I dont think it was at all related to the contract stuff, i just think hes that sort of meathead

**** your drama teacher must be getting paid well

Thurston + Morgan is the best combo by far
Cronk + Keary will be close behind

Stop your constant whinging

Yes with Thurston injured I'd forgotten about this existance

Sorry I thought this was a forum where one could express opinion. We are just a season since winning the comp and we've seen the best CEO we've ever had and now our premiership winning half leave, sorry if that appears to be whinging but after living as a Sharks supporter for decades without success its concerning seeing a winning formula broken up so quickly.

I reckon Moylan is a good signing, but we are diving into the unknown. He has played half a season as a five eighth. If we team him up with Pearce we will contend no doubt.

Maloney didn’t want 2 b here, anyone thinking we should have upgraded his contract after this years form and carry on or even crazier idea of making him honour his current contract, are truely delusional.... thx jimmy for 2016 loved your work welcome aboard moyza with a point to prove.

If Gordon was still fullback and Moylan was signed to play fullback I'm sure everyone would be stoked. It is very reasonable to question the wisdom of getting him to play 5/8 at 900k a season. We've been down the make a fullback a 5/8 path before with Barba. Barba was relatively cheap at that time unlike Moylan. I don't know what Val is on but we can't be paying fullback wages to wingers to accommodate shunting Moylan to fullback. That money is needed to sign a decent half.

Well if that's the case I'm glad he's gone. If he's tanking because of money after a year then it's a piss poor attitude and best he's not here.

Classic go-slow tactics from the old union days of direct action.

I blame the Wobblies.

Maloney's problem is that when he looks in the mirror one day he sees Cooper Cronk, next day he sees Thurston, Sterlo the day after and so forth.

He is a damn good player at his best but he isn't nearly as good as he thinks he is. As I understand it, Maloney's primary beef is that he has been wronged by the timing of an increase in the salary cap. Boo hoo. Does he think he should the NRL should schedule cap raises around him? It is all very narcissistic from James.

James should blame himself for his poor pay at the club courtesy of being too cheap when forking out for a player manager. The fault lies with James.

I strongly got the impression that James thought that he had been ripped off this year too. So he didn't get what he wanted altogether.

From my understanding we were chasing Moylan to ply fullback all along for 2018, Penrith wouldn't release him without compensation so we gave Maloney what we want as we are confident on getting Pearce to replace him,

Maloney isn't being replaced with Moylan, he's being replaced by Pearce

The plan was always to have Moylan at FB as we saw what losing a ball playing fullback did to our attack this year with the loss of Barba

I think the original plan was
1.Moylan
2.Feki
3.Leutele
4.Dugan
5.Holmes
6.Maloney
7.Townsend

Now the plan is
1.Moylan
2.Feki
3.Leutele
4.Dugan
5.Holmes
6.Pearce/Townsend
7.Townsend/Pearce

Makes sense to me

I like that backline but I can't see Pearce at six. I'm not a big fan of him but he's an out and out seven. CT on the other hand played six when he was at the Warriors and did ok, so that's how I'd have them. CT at six and Pearce at 7.

But unless you have some inside information I can't see Pearce coming here. I think it's a given he'll leave the Roosters but I reckon someone else will get him.

I think Pearce is at his best when he is running the ball and not having to worry about organizing, it will come down to us and Manly who will get him as Blake Green wants to go to the Warriors

I thought that we would have been in the market for another prop. Happy if we sign Pearce but would be hoping that one of the younger boppers, (maybe the dude from FNQ), steps up.
