"Flanagan: We haven't spoken to Trent (Hodkinson) or his management but we're in the market and we're still looking. Robbo will be in the mix somewhere, he could be a utility, he could be a starting 7 or could be back-up for someone."

Of course not rubbish him, but say "we're going hard for X or Y; robbo has been great for us but he understands the direction the club wants to head in" or something like that

Seriously what did you guys think he was going to say? Rubbish him on a public forum?
Exactly. He was hardly going to put forth that the club is searching for any possible solution to the halfback problem. He has to back the players.

What about chasing the likes of Josh drinkwater and even Luke walsh , Walsh is playing well in the SL and Drinkwater is rapidly improving .

Maybe after the way DCE played out in the media they are trying to not repeat that by keeping it under wraps.

We went all in to get dce, pretty safe bet robbo won't feature next year unless captain of Newtown, I'm happy for him to do that.

In fairness to the cub, we didn't exactly make many public statements about the chase for DCE.

Was all media.

Very hard to keep things like that under wraps these days. As Chad alluded to, managers purposely leak stuff to the media. Not just that, everyone has a phone in their pocket these days. Very hard to keep out of the spotlight regardless of where meetings take place.

Flanno did make comments at the forums etc. Compared to the bigger clubs we do make a lot more noise about who we are after. It is true the managers cause a lot too but when's the last time you heard the Roosters, Storm, Dogs etc make comments before a deal was locked down.
