yep. But i guess you cant blame daly for that. Forgetting all the infighting and rumours about Manly, a great chunk of that squad won premierships together, with Daly, he then had to announce he was leaving. With him leaving basically cut out any hope of a premiership in the near future.

just being realistic here. I dont think its cheating. Given some of the contracts we have on the go, if we could offer DCE what we were, Titans could too. Remember no matter how broke a club is, the NRL sends out the funds for the cap each year dont they? SO even with no money, they have cap funds. HOWEVER im dubious about 3rd party deals. Surely any potential 3rd party deal went begging after half the team got arrested for drug trafficking. The NRL said they would guarantee the previous offer. If that was for a mil with 3rd partys but since then all 3rd party deals went missing. Who is fronting up those payments? I thought a club couldnt guarantee 3rd party payments?

Yep.

Mason to me, shouldnt have been starting. They were doing things right but had no polish, which was something new for Manly. We'll see how they play next week now the shock factor is gone. Id say certain guys in the team already knew (Foran, Lyon, Ballin, Stewert)

It stinks, but like i said, if we could fit him under the cap, any team could have. Titans offered him a deal, as long as the nrl didnt throw in extra money to get it done i dont care. They will need more than dce to do well imo

Pretty devastated we didn't sign him to be honest. The whole situation was so messy. We would have been a legit contender with him in our side.

The titans were short on star power and were able to make him an offer he couldn't refuse. Any questionable involvement of the nrl will remain speculation.
Fact is we are now undoubtedly in a position to make sezer an offer that the titans surely can't match. Hopefully money talks for us too.
