souths bought for 3mil, no one would be crazy enough to buy us for 35! unless it was me with that sort of coin to throw around.

I posted this in the sponsorship thread -

See my first instinct is to ignore it but then it kinda makes sense.

Why would people who have no real love for the club want to come in and run it? Why would a bloke who is a Manly supporter want to take over a 3.5 million dollar debt straight from his super? The goodness of their hearts?

There is way more to it I think. There is a lot of money to be had from the development which is linked to the club. If you own the club you own the development or at least the portion going to the sharks.

I just don't know if an individual can buy the club without members voting??

How much money could you make from the sale of the units if you could invest it yourself? I don't know I'm hoping its a complete trolling exercise.

i see where you are coming from, but they cannot make a decision like that without the memberships consent.

the whole refinanciong of the loan thing, while a big decision in itself, they didnt sell the footy club.

Geez some people are gullible. Coincidence that the $35 mill figure is just the $3.5 mill cash (moved one decimal place) that was actually given in exchange for the mortgage.
If you listen to garbage like that, well you'll get taken for a ride every day. They can't sell the club without members permission.
End of Story.

Cool if they need a members vote nothing to worry about cause we won't vote for it.

I didn't know if it was spelt out in the constitution that the club can't be sold.

pretty sure its in there, which is why the previous board had to get the members to vote for the develpoment partners to take over the land we owned.

Hope fifita, leaves some lollies in the till to share with his 2 mates also in contract renewal discussions. Perhaps a Bulldogs like Premiership Pact would be the tonic?
