Same old crap on here as usual. I know I'll get shouted down again but we have to hang on to what we've got. Lichaa must play first grade this year and we need to see what Holmes has got also. Running out with Morris and Robson in the same 17 is just wrong! We didn't win it with them last year and we won't with them this year. The Ballin thing isn't even a rumour so get onto talking about real rumours ( if there are any)

agreed, he has now overtake stapo as the forums most over rated player
Perhaps but still a better option than Morris or Degwah who will need to be replaced soon regardless, plus he is young and has upside. It's a no brainer to keep a hold off him IMO and start getting him accustomed to FG in light of a better alternative...

I don't think Stapo is overrated except by you know who. Most people on here know he has generally been below average with only the occasional glimpse of something better but then back to showing why he is a reserve grader. If he could cut the multitude of mistakes out of his game and general try hard nature he would be a more useful depth option

Do not see why Lichaa would not re-sign seeing as John Morris will retire at years end and De Gwah is pretty much gone.
Can already see coaching staff asking Morris if he wants to go round another year and the decision is his instead of telling him they aren't giving him another contract like they should
Hopefully getting to 300 games will be enough for him to hang up the boots, he has served the game well but time to let the next generation step up

I have a feeling we will sign another old 9 and Lichaa will leave.

Yea that's the thing if Liccha slips through what's the Sharks master plan to replace him?
We could deal with Peachey going, we have backrowers, locks
We could deal with Fifita if he was gone cause we still have props even if not of his standard
But what we don't have is plentiful stocks of viable hooker options to replace the current batch of useless old timers. Liccha is a must to retain as no way we sign a top tier hooker from another club

I would like to see Brown step into 5/8 with Carney's eventually move to the 7 & liccha at hooker. Gagan a prospect on the wing, holmes at FB, ricky at centre. Look after these kids but still make them do the hard yards and the future is looking up.

Id like to see brown in there somewhere but I liked his movement from dummy half in the nines

we got other good 5/8 options comin through

I think people need to stop talking about Lichaa as a player we have the choice to keep. From what I've heard on this forum he doesn't really want to stay.

Need to go the exact same way with Val Holmes as the Roosters went with RTS, started on the wing and played FB when Mini (Flash) was out with a plan to put him there and throw Flash back on the wing to finish his career.

Lichaa seems a cocky little ****, but if we let him go to keep Nu Brown in for future 9, it could be a West Tigers letting Fafita go to keep Woods type situation.

Also is Politini not an option for first grade (genuine question).

I'm more concerned about 7 over any position in the near future, how do we succeed Robson and how soon.

You wouldn't want to play 9 at the sharks if you are a fast creative hooker, apparently the game plan is for the 9's to give service from dummyhalf & thats about it,thats flanno's coaching instructions & fits in with the style of play.the info in this post came from the horses mouth mid season last year.
It is no wonder Lichha wants to go !,He can go if he wants to,i have my doubts his body is up to first grade & he hasn't done anything other than look good in a few games of rough oztag a few weeks ago.It is typical of this forum to carry on about him, before the nines we had no young players & were in
trouble with a ageing squad, now the talk on here is about succession plans to get the great young players into the top grade.

I believe politini is injured. Besides, it's not as simple as promoting a nsw cup player, cap limitations etc (why we may not see lichaa come Monday).

you obviously dont watch much 20s and nsw cup. he was building nicely until some injuries halted his progress. played a big hand in the nsw cup winning the comp.

lichaa is the best hooker we have at the club. once he works his way into first grade, he will be a great dummy half for many years to come.

When Lichaa started playing regular NSW Cup towards the backpart of the 2013 season, Politoni was regularly playing better footy than him. Sure Lichaa would play an awesome game here or there which would add to his hype, but on a consistent level Pat was better.

It's obvious that the main reason people are behind Lichaa is because he's a local junior, because if the fans wanted a dummy half to be promoted to firsts due to good, constant performances, they would/should have been behind Pat.

Regarding the role if the 9, that may change this year with Sharpe. He will follow Flanno's blueprint sure, but if we lose a few on the trot and he's looking for some creativity, Lichaa may be deployed to play his natural game. At that point all bets are off.

This is why I hope he doesn't sign elsewhere until he has played 5-10 games in FG with the sharks. Might change his tune.

The main reason people are behind him is because he can help our struggling attack! I don't see our hookers as a weakness like everybody else seems to, they do the job but lichaa is better in attack and adds another dimension to the attack.

The coaching staff need to stop being so stubborn and throw him in there. If we does have an attitude... who cares he still makes us better off the bench and will quickly lose the attitude once he's getting a chance with the big names and knows what it's like to get a run in the top grade.

If we lose him over not giving him a shot on the bench when old players who are just solid are in front of him I will forever dislike flanno and sharp. It shouldn't be a case of if we lose lichaa, we have brown. Our future is much brighter with both!

No he wasnt lichaa was much better especially in the finals which was highlighted when lichaa got way more minutes than politini
