Bennett seems to work with the team that he inherits. He does usually bring a few with him, but he mainly seems to try to work with what he has got.

I reckon he'll keep Hunt and won't worry about DCE.

just a feeling.

In your head, rent free
i reckon he will go all guns blazing to bring DCE home

i heard he was helping brisbane to try and secure cam smith earlier this year, so i am willing to wager he will want a big name at his disposal

Yeah I know, but look at St George. Everyone thought Soward was useless, then Benny comes along and gets the best out of him.

There is plenty of talent up in Brisbane, whereas there was probably less at Newcastle. Also, some of those recruits were Fatty's. Snowden and Mason were recruited partly for sentimental reasons by Tinkler.

If we were smart (which we are not) we would try and get Griffin as assistant then use that to lure the likes of Hunt and Hoffman. Most of the young broncs including Glenn, Gillett and McCulloch all played under him up through the 20's

Not sure how Hoffman would feel about him after being shafted the last a two years but I agree with your general point. On Monday Josh McGuire came out and said that he only wanted to play for Griffen (or something to that effect).

There's a serious risk in signing a player who is more loyal to his coach than his Club though, especially when the coach is only an assistant. Lose him and you lose the player.

Didn't Bennett try to sign Hunt last year?

I'd love for this to somehow cause Ben Hunt to be a Shark but I just can't see it happening. DCE is contracted, Manly don't have a replacement and Brisbane don't have any other halfbacks.

I like your thinking too. Griffin would be an asset here as Brisbane do play an attacking game. However with Hoffman wanting to play fullback , where would that leave Holmes?
Happy to have Hunt , McGuire and others follow Griffin knowing he is the assistant.
That would be awesome . Probably dreaming

FROM THE OTHER FORUM. (RELIABLE POSTER)

We have gone from trying to get Josh Maguire and Dave Taylor, to now looking at Mitch Alwood and Joseph Paulo. I am stumped on that.

Also, our no ********s policy has seen us not enter the BJ Leilua sweep. Despite assurances he will stay at Newcastle, his manager is pimping him out to teams.

AND THIS.

We had a sniff at Darius believe it or not. But then the no ******** policy kicked in.

just because you have the number 7 on your back doesn't mean you can't run the footy.
Amen to that! I have no idea why this forum has decided a young guy who has played a lot of junior footy at 7 and prefers 7, is all of a sudden not able to organise like a 7 needs to. So was he not doing any organising for all those other sides he played the role in? Wouldn't it be special to have a seven with a running game?

We should be going hard for little john. We're unlikely to sign any of the guys being talked about in this thread, and we need a half before any other

Plus he was selected as a seven for Samoa before injury hit so quiet a few people can see what some can't see on this forum
With the new game it's not so much a 6 and 7 anymore it's more what side you prefer anyway

And the Ennis signing means organisation will not be a problem next year. And Ennis will help with kicking.

first/second receiver….. it usually plays little to no part in the first 80 metres of the field. That last 20, how often did you see Todd Carney spread the ball wide into a Jeff Robson wrap around…..? Or did we see Robbo feed it to Carney?

Glad we're not going for Taylor, if true. Last thing we need is another passenger with an over-inflated perception of their ball playing skills.
