I want Moga more than duffie. Would gladly take both however. throw in josh mcguire and that is some nice recruiting imo. Including we have already signed Ennis.

Josh McGuire would be from 2016 on if at all cause he is still contracted till the end 2015 - but can negotiate from the 1st of Nov (stupid rule)

I've still heard no news of Stapo heading to France.

http://rugbyleagueweek.com.au/cronulla-set-shark-cull/

CRONULLA are set for a mass clean-out in the coming months after their failure to make an impact on this year’s premiership.

With the Sharks having a dismal season, the club is in the market for new talent and several established players are set to make way.

Experienced hooker Isaac De Gois has already left to take up a two-and-a-half year deal at Parramatta, winger Beau Ryan has retired while veteran prop Bryce Gibbs and hooker John Morris are also set to hang up the boots.

Long-serving winger Nathan Stapleton is off to French rugby while fullback Nathan Gardner, halfback Daniel Holdsworth and centre/winger Jonathan Wright are likely to move on.

Centre Blake Ayshford, signed from Wests Tigers this year, has already been told he can look around for other offers.

Boom young hooker Michael Lichaa is another heading for greener pastures, having signed with the Bulldogs.

Chief executive Steve Noyce admits the Sharks will have to make changes for next season.

“We are currently assessing our options and dealing with the balancing act that is the salary cap,” Noyce says.

“We are looking at recruiting and we have (suspended coach) Shane Flanagan coming back to take charge again in 2015.

“It’s been a tough season with injuries and other distractions.”

There have been positives, however. Key forwards Andrew Fifita and Wade Graham have signed new deals and classy youngsters Fa’amanu Brown and Valentine Holmes have also extended their contracts.

The Sharks are in the market for outside backs, headed by Roosters centre Tautau Moga. They’ve also secured the signature of Bulldogs skipper Michael Ennis. Noyce has a positive message for Sharks fans, despite what is shaping as a season to forget.

“The thing about football is that it is cyclical,” he says.

“You go through good times and you go through bad times.

“A few years ago Souths were out of the premiership . . . now they are one of the most powerful clubs in the NRL.

“The Dragons won the comp in 2010, now they are in a rebuilding phase too.

“Things will turn around – it’s just a matter of time.

“We know we will succeed because everyone is pushing in the same direction and we have a great fan base and a great junior system.

“All we can do right now is do our best to deal with what is in front of us but everyone is confident that the future is bright.”

Noyce has spoken some truths.

Eels were back to back spoon earners. This season they are doing well. It works in cycles, there is only a few sides that have been consistent over more than a 5 year period in making the finals. Manly, Melbourne.

Roosters have been hot and cold, last 2-3 years been ok. Souths have had a few good years. Dogs also (but did have a shocker a few seasons ago too).

A bad season is best defined by how a team reacts to it. If we kept the same 25 going into 2015 then we clearly have NFI. But they are looking beyond this season. Val and Nu both re-signed. Wade, Fifita too. Ennis coming in.

We have wanted Stapo, Morris, Degois etc not near our side for a while. Now its happening. Ayshford has been told he is free to move on, which shows that he isnt really favoured at all. The club needs more credit than it is getting from you blokes. Just cos we arent landing signings like Mansour or Moga, doesnt mean we arent actually focusing on our weaker spots and trying to rectify them.

a good centre, maybe 1 good prop (considering we know Gordon/Feki will be our wingers), and we do have a good side

Stapleton signed with a Rugby club about 2 months ago. I remember reading it in one of the trash papers online.

its been talked about for a while now, but still havent really seen anything to say its a definite.

Either way, clubs do tackle the problematic areas in their squad at some point

So i know that Lichaa has agreed to terms with the doggies but does anyone know if he has actually signed a contract. Hopefully they do what they did to Fifita and screw him over, only if he keeps playing like he did tonight though if not than they can have him hahaha.

I wouldn't mind keeping Jono Wright on for another year if he were to take a cheap contract from us.

Solid centre and would make good depth.

Can't see him turning down the Doggies offer but.

**** Lichaa over him and his baggage. Nu Brown looked to be creating some head aches out there for the broncs. And playing at hooker you could see he was more relaxed compared to half the other week

A lot less responsibility on his shoulders, bench is the perfect spot for him ATM. Just come on for about 20-30 minutes, adjust and feel your way into first grade, let's all remember how young he is.
