kayleb milne?

whatever happened to that teen sensation jangala bennett we signed from brisbane rugby when he was like 16?
That's the dude! Him and Lumelume were just both clubs going, "here, you try make him live up to potential"

Jangala I think... we let him stay in Qld longer than intended but then he ended up going to Union? I can't remember.
Sometimes when you are too small you make it and say "they all said I was too small but look at me now!" but more often you just are too small. Not sure if he did end up being too small though, he just kind of disappeared.
(quick google of recent news with his name, most current stuff seems to be court related)
I think Covid was a factor. Wasn’t playing for ages so came home to play local Rugby.

He was 18 when he signed.

I’ve been hearing about that bloke for the past 2 years. Has he actually played a game yet?
I think so, certainly Trials, but he's parked out in/nr the centres off the bench, which is ok in FG .BUT they use him the same way in Flegg.Should be close in 2nd rower imho, and only way to improve his dee.

Blokes 6’4 and is 110kg. Thought he was a middle forward.

Just saw rumours of attitude issues about hi elsewhere too, that what you’re referring to?

Nanai re signs with the cowgirls till 2027. Apparently on 900k a year.

They’ve now got 3 players tying up around 3 mil now. Going to have to shred a couple this year you would think.

Got the likes of Chad, Drinkwater, Robson, as well on big coin.

Not gonna call it yet, but imho Jack Howarth got more than a touch of the Ol Kayleb Milne overhype, for the Storm
Since you and I spoke about him he actually did play a bit of back row (right side) in Q Cup for the second half of last year. Was playing 80 most weeks for a while, but got hooked in the finals after a drop, penalty and awful miss all in the first 15 minutes. Was dropped to the bench the following week and played the last 30 minutes or so in the centres.

Funny to compare our cap vs others. I swear every other team has multiple players on close to $1m where as the sharks seem so well balanced, Dale being the highest paid at what, 750K?

Yeah I think you’re right. I do feel we are 1 superstar player away though from being a premiership threat. That being a Superstar fullback or absolute gun forward.

I feel the same. When I read cap news from other teams I am like “Meh, the cap is only an issue for us.”.

I do feel we have above average depth though too so some of the difference likely goes there.

We likely need to have three middles out to call up Hazelton.

Our entire back five minus probably Katoa have ability to be game breakers.
(Yes Kennedy wasn’t at his best last season but we have seen what he can do)
Katoa maybe not a game breaker but can get finishes that win you a game very very few other wingers can.

We have a very balanced and deep side I think, and there’s cost to that

Absolutely. You look at teams like Manly, Souths, Melbourne and others. Their depth starts to get questionable by the time you get outside their top 13, let alone players 20+.

Meanwhile our spine wouldn't be on $2m combined but apparently we'll have to scrap it out to retain players.

I can't buy it.
