Article floating around that a sydney club is looking to offer Nanai 4.2m over 5 years. 800k x3 900k x2.

Am I missing something with him? Or is that crazy money. He's obviously a great young prospect and ther aerial threat is a great bonus. But that feels like massive overs. I won't be surprised if he regresses next season kinda like Nikora did.

Herbie is wanting to play fullback. I reckon we have a real crack at him for 2024. **** Kennedy off, Wade will retire plus with the increase in the cap we could surely afford to offer him around 750k which is his asking price.

You’d think it would have to be StMerge. Tigers have their back rowers sorted (papali’i and Bateman), dogs spent big on kikau, and no other Sydney team would be that desperate/stupid to offer a second rower that kind of coin.

You could probably argue ignoring cap increase that’s loosely comparable to an offer like maybe 700k and 750k
Which is still too high but makes sense you’d have to throw a little more on to bring him to Sydney

It’s probably the roosters mate. They’ll release Drew Hutchinson so they can sign Nanai.

Seems a good player, but I was a bit perplexed by his highlight package that consisted almost exclusively of flying through to take the ball off kicks.

He was very good at it, but surely that's not his whole bag of tricks?

Has a full bag of tricks, bring this post up in 2 years and you will be saying it’s a bargain price. In saying that I don’t think any edge forward is worth $900k

Just went and checked them after reading this. Was cool to come across his highlights in 2016… in U’13’s. Time flies

That’s what got him hyped up. Very promising prospect who I’m sure will be a good player for a long time. Way too hyped because of the tries from kicks though.

I see him as a similar player to Nikora. The attacking highlights got him noticed early on, but he has a bit to learn.

Nice to see a battler like lodge rewarded with a roosters T&T deal
It’s been reported that the Roosters gave him a T&T while they are waiting for the cap/CBA to be done. He’ll be signed as soon as they know the number.

I’ve seen that one. Looks like the one trick in his bag back then was being the biggest kid.

If we need a centre I'd look at him (not $750k) but I've never seen him play FB - never heard FB & him mentioned until now.

You've obviously seen him at FB. What's he like?

I haven’t seen him at FB but he was reported to have said that.

I can imagine him running well from FB but also starving our decent centres and wingers of ball

Broncos have told Tesi Niu he is free to sign for a club for 2023. Would make a good centre/back up FB for us. Haven’t really seen him play but can find the try line and is a bit of a unit. Think the knights might have a crack at him though for their FB position

He is a pretty decent 18th man / backup fullback / 3rd or 4th centre but we have plenty of guys who can do all that, even if one is Tracey.
Not worth fighting Knights for him, they can have him and we’ll keep Miller

How do you know he'd be a good centre/back up FB if you haven't really seen him play?
