User friendly definitely, but I have always assumed we had a min wage deal (or near to) waiting for him if he didn't find anything else so presumably they've paid at least enough to get him to move teams. Even if it is just an extra 50k or something freeing that up could maybe be the difference between retaining someone else or not.
But I agree it is probably unlikely and he probably represents enough good value to them they wouldn't release early... maybe if the 50k helped them and he had a great offer they didn't want to stand in the way of?
