List is quite varied, if you go by average instead of total you getAre there a lot of edge forwards on that list?? Or is it just the way our defensive line works??
Feel comfortable with both of them defending on the edge and never really concerned with their defence.
Asi, Wilton, Brailey, KBromwich, DBrown, Nikora, Martin, Grant, Murray, Young, McGuire, (a few nobodies), Olakau'atu, Lane, Mahoney, JKing, Moylan, Leota, Cook, Arrow, Opacic, Koloamatangi, De Belin, Roberts, Carrigan, Sims, Cotter, Capewell, Foran, Jurbo, Robson so on and so forth
You'd like to not hold 3 of the top 6 but positionally the list is fairly varied (other than not many centres, wings, fullbacks). Quite a few on that list would be considered good defenders.
Volume definitely plays a role.
Tactically we may be utilising edges to pressure inside and cut off spreads, I have noticed this at times but haven't been keeping an eye out for it. The edge knows they won't make a great tackle but cuts off the outside, player being tackled ends up offloading but back into middle of field where we have other defenders waiting.
That could be a factor if it is a regular tactic. Hard to tell unless you really watch for it as even Briton (91.9) and Teig (93.6) do have respectable tackle efficiencies.
BothIs Blayke a Blayke thing or a hooker thing do you think? The eye test hasn't given me cause for concern so far
He makes a large volume of tackles so naturally will have a higher volume of ineffectives.
He is 4th overall for average tackles per game with 41.8.
He is also quite small even by hooker standards so he will need help quickly in most of his tackles or there is high risk of an offload. That just is what it is but his overall rate of 94.9 efficiency is not super concerning.
Split that across a 40 tackle game though and it's two ineffectives.
Overall I think his defence has improved this year although has done some odd things on the line at times.
